How often do you think dev thoughts?
Everyday? Once a week? 10x per day?
When I was younger I don't recall thinking or feeling them so often or so strong. It is a daily- sometimes several times per day feeling for me. The older I get the more often they come.

It depends, really. Somedays, not a single thought. More often, if I have seen a 'trigger' movie, or read something or conversed with someone about the topic. So, if we are taking a survey, I'd say maybe once or twice a week at this particular time. There have been periods in my life where it has been 10x a day or more (if I was actively involved in a relationship with a wheeler or about to embark upon one.)

hmmm, good question....since i am with a wheeler (even if it is a distance relationship) does it means that i am having dev thoughts everytime i think about him? ...and then when i have free time i check the forum,...so i guess that makes for good quantity of time spent on the matter However, i do think that before i realized/pin pointed the attraction the thoughts were more supressed....i do feel more openly indulgent in them now than i did back then.

I think devo thoughts almost daily, maybe a couple times a day. Me too, the older I get, the more often they come, although I still have periods where it will die down for awhile. I used to have a strong devo reaction whenever I saw the type of wheeler that I like. Now that I'm wheeling more, that doesn't happen. It's like nothing, very matter of fact, and non-devo. Which is somewhat disconcerting, because all my life I've had this strong reaction to wheelers. I can't even begin to analyze that, and probably don't want to! Maybe it relates to Isabelle's idea about completion. But it still comes in my thoughts and fantasies and when perusing YouTube.

At least 2 or 3 times a day. When I'm in the "unfeeling stage" I think of my devness because I wonder what's wrong with me because I'm not the same (I know... it's really twisted!!) But, in normal days... I could say I think 3 or 4 times.

it really depends on the day, and where i am in the dev cycle. also if i am preoccupied with other aspects of my life or if i encounter any 'triggers' in my day. i definitely "think dev thoughts" more than i used to. it appears common that these feelings/thoughts seem to increase with age... but what dionisia said is also true: ... i do think that before i realized/pin pointed the attraction the thoughts were more supressed....i do feel more openly indulgent in them now than i did back then. when i think about men in general i am usually imagining a wheeler. so in summary, my answer would be "fairly regularly".

I've been very bad at posting in the past few months, but here goes. I'm in the same position as noi...I recently started dating a wheeler n I find myself thinking about him all the time. But I don't think it's necessarily dev thoughts. It's just him as a whole...(oh dear, going all soppy now!!) With this guy, it's strange...I never think about his chair when I find myself daydreaming. Maybe finding him has made my devness fade to an extent???

Some days I wish I could think about all day, as a relaxation, a way to escape, and NOTHING! And then other days, I would have to be calm (in society), and the smallest details of disability excites me. But as a rule, when I'm alone at night before I sleep, I think a lot, it relaxes me. Otherwise, it is true that a trigger can lead to need to talk. But for me, having thoughts of devotee, it is primarily a way to make me happy, to relax. So when I'm in a period too stressed, I can not cause, nor has enjoyed, thoughts of devotee. And then when calmer period, on vacation, I spend my day much to think about it. So in my case, it's a bit "all or nothing".

Wow this is an old thread, lol! I def have cycles, but lately I'm in a really high dev cycle (which is great for my writing lol), so I'd say undoubtably daily... which is part of why I'm tearing through dev books as fast as I can lol. I've read two in the past week and am anxious for the third I pre-ordered to release so I can read that one, too. LOL.

Yeah, the fact that I'm writing (or, you know, trying!) means that I think a ton about it. Which spills over into the rest of my day.

Being married to a wheeler, I'd say it is natural to have constant dev thoughts, but I also read dev material, etc. Funnily, there are even less and less dev thoughts toward my husband. I think I'm getting really comfortable around him, not so much excitement any more.

I have daily dev thoughts, especially when I am reading a good book and think about the MC. I agree with the Ene. Being married to a wheeler for almost ten years you do kind of get normalised to it and so although you love them there isn't so much of the the dev thrill but having said that we were on the Tube in London on Friday and he was looking particularily hot and I thought it was like that Joel Brown video, Personal Rockstar. Also there was a blind guy and helper dog which got my attention.

I like it when people dredge up the good old threads.
I too have dev thoughts every day. Being around my husband triggers most of them and he also keeps me in a dev phase all the time.

Oh goodness...way TOO many times per day! But I'll also blame it on the fact that I'm in the process of writing something too, heehee And the fact that since I'm still working on my campus, I'm constantly on the lookout for Cute Guy--the cute wheeler I had talked about a few months ago. Lol. And, like I know has been discussed before, I definitely have cycles. And I'm definitely in an up-cycle right now--I think because it's the summer for me, so I have no schoolwork and my job is just a laid back summer job, and I'm currently single, so nothing else is really there to occupy my mind right now. Lol.
