The way you talk about him, Pete, that sounds like a great place to start.
I’m sorry he’s not around for you right now. The uncertainty (and the acknowledgement of possibly moving into a different “season” of life) has to be so tough. All my good thoughts to you and your dad.
Even for people who DON’T already use voice-to-text a lot, I always encourage people to talk things out on audio and see what you find from that. That’s how I’ve helped my husband write just about every cover letter or admissions essay or funeral speech.

I feel a bit strange at the moment, since my accident in 1990, my dad has been by my side in all those years. He stopped with me while I was in skull traction, and moved in with me to attend to my garden and drive me around everywhere till I got carers. He has been my constant companion, but at the moment he’s in hospital and for the first time in my life, I just feel lost. The last few weeks he has started to forget a few things, but if anybody is worth a life story it’s him. In my case, perhaps that’s a good place to start. Pete 👍 So sorry about your dad, Pete. That's tough for sure. I lost my dad many years ago and I still miss him. I'm also losing my mother to dementia and it's been very difficult for the past few years to say the least. It's like she is dying before my eyes even though she is still alive. Wishing you all the strength you need. And yes, writing may help process some of your emotions.

Hmm. I supposed that one could say that my story is my the musical play that I wrote. It is mostly my story with a bit of the stories of friends of mine who also have disabilities.

It’s been a strange couple of months for me, since Christmas, I have lost three of my best mates. I am slightly lost at the moment, I have lost a valuable friendship which I cannot get back, and I deeply regret it. I have recently got all my affairs in order, it’s strange, I am 50 years old, financially secured, own my home and I can do so much with my life. I think it’s time to move forward, write my story and hope someone finds me. Well I’m going to take a break from here, I’ll be back when it’s done!
Pete 👍

Will look forward to your story. Your FB posts are always funny & charming even if I can’t figure out 1/2 the sports stuff 😆and slang. I know you will do a nice job.

Thanks for that, I hope you enjoyed my Facebook video yesterday, I am thinking about doing one once a week. A roll in the English countryside, what do you think?

I think you’ve got a different perspective that would be interesting to a lot of people - me included

During my time trying to deal with life. I found writing your story down helped process. Writing it down, reading it. Absorbing it instead of exuding it. Like sanding down the sharp edge. Any one else? I find it to be deeply personal. I've shown three people. One a mental health counselor. I guess this is the place to be open, so many others have. Is there a thread of non-fiction dev bombardments? Should we start one? Should I? Scary shit. I did not. Did you write down your whole life story or focus on your disability specifically?
