After saw this thread and later get 5 minutes of boredom and of course a sharpie!! I was able to create my own little handicapped guy tattoo..I love it so much now that I think I'm going to be sad when he fade away in a few days (I think I did good for a person that have no talent for the arts)..lol....or maybe he is too simple to draw..

That is very sexy! Next time you'll just have to make a homemade brand instead of just using a sharpie...you should wait until the scabs heal before taking pictures tho.

I have to say, that's pretty good artwork for a Sharpie - though don't those things have nasty chemicals you're not going to want on your skin...? ...and that wheeler is going to the wrong way! Tri's got it right!

You need to draw a female on top of that wheelers lap.

Natasha,
How is wheelchair transportation in P.R.? Especially from the airport to private residences in San Juan. Do they have accessible cabs or some other paratransit type of service that can be utilized to get places? Or accessible van rentals? Outrageous prices?
I'd appreciate any information you might have, because regular passenger vans or cabs are a real pain in the a** to get in and out of sometimes, nevermind stowing my chair, and luggage (including a shower/commode chair if there are none to rent). A friend wants me to come visit, and ground transportation is the biggest impediment. But a warm winter visit would be nice!
Thanks.

hi...Im sorry but i actually have no idea about how that works in there...Since the wheelers that I dated down there had their own cars and I used to picked up my American wheeler at the airport and drove in my car I don't know how good or bad the transportation services are... I guess you can call and find out.... I'm sorry I cant be more helpful....

Tourist information centres are usually very helpful for that.If you can find their website or if they have a phone number then contact them. They should cater for every tourist ,whatever the situation.

That is true. I once was planning a trip to a Caribbean island (not PR) and their website had no information on accessibility. I emailed them, and they emailed back a Word document with information on accessibility on the island. Why they didn't just put that info on the website, I don't know (I made the suggestion, but it's still not up there!). So it pays to ask. I spent a minute googling and the official PR tourism website is www.gotopuertorico.com. I also found this document www.gotopuertorico.com/PDFs/guide_east_eng.pdf - if you search for "wheelchair" in the document you'll find information on a special beach area called Mar Sin Barreras set up with equipment for getting wheelers into the water.
