The word "Invacare" sounds like "care for the invalid". I don´t like that name. The company should up-date it to something smarter. That's what I was thinking too! It sounds like they would make awful looking wheelchairs, then I clicked the link and was very surprised. Their name is bad marketing, I think! I wouldn´t be surprised if the name of that company stems back from the time where disabled people were seen as invalids. They may not be able to change it since it is a well-known brand .

I've had a Enigma Wheelchair from Drive Medical for the past year. Its a improvement on the last 2 Invercare chairs I have had.The 7 inch front wheels can go over almost any terrain I'm likely to meet (unlike the pathetic little castors on the Invacares that through me out at least once..)It's not perfect,it could be much lighter than it is,but it's comfortable enough for sitting in all day. Doe appears to be slightly obsessed by the "bling" gold wheel rims ,but they came as standard,so that was almost an accidental feature of the chair.

After having Quickies and Invacare Top Ends since my accident, I got a TiLite the last go around. Can't beat it, especially with a nice set of Spinergy Rims on it.
