I looked through a few pages in the devs only and couldn't find a thread about newly discovered books, or even old but good books so created a new one. I came across this tonight and haven't read it but its just $0.99 for the avid readers here. www.robynbradley.com/nook-kindle-short-stories-online/When Koty’s husband volunteers her to visit Jamie, a quadruple amputee who lost his limbs while serving in Iraq, neither Koty nor Jamie is happy. Jamie resents being “babysat” every day. Koty resents her lot in life: almost 30, mother of four, married to an abusive alcoholic. But in one pivotal moment that brings Koty and Jamie together in a sexually-charged situation, all that changes.

I downloaded and read it. It's a very short story. I think I'm going to write her and ask her to add more to it

I saw that when I went on a downloading spree the other day and thought of you, Emma.

I had a new thought last week. I decided to contact the authors of books who have disabled heroes and interview them! I wrote to the woman who did The Write Man for Her and she's answered some interview questions that I'll post at my website next week.

Wow, thanks Emma! I will definitely look that up. There are other threads in here that have discussed book titles, but they tend to get lost over time, so thanks for starting a new one. Also this is why we have a book review section over on the main web site. Like with the stories, Lee recently switched to a message board format to make it easier for people to upload reviews. Please save discussions of books/movies for this board here. But if you would like to post a review for something that hasn't been mentioned yet, please do so: paradevo.net/reviews.htmlAnd Ruth, that's a great idea! I can't wait to read your interviews. And please contact the author of Equal Opportunities, I think we are all dying to know if she's a dev or not, and if not, where she got her information.

Getting out of lurkerdome for this thread. Thx, Emma! I've been reading you guys for ages now - ok, for about 2 or 3 months and I feel I know you so I'm gonna jump right in. This is the topic I'm interested in, because lately I've been into fiction with para guys. Nothing beyond that. I've read The Write Man for Her, reading Equal Opportunities now and I'm really looking to buying A Man Like Mac online (any hints?). Guess I should state first that I'm not a Dev and I'll bow out gracefully if any of the mods decides to delete this post and ban my arse. (Please don't, though). I've posted a few messages on Ruth's blog (Hi Ruth! *waves*, it's Amy) asking her for a fiction list so that's why this thread really got me posting. So, hi all! And I have a new addition - hopefully is new - a swedish film called Alskar Alskar Inte - www.imdb.com/title/tt0115073/ which I found great and I saw no one here posted about it. I have lots and lots of other questions , especially about the books mentioned above, but I'll leave at that now and hoping for more. Cheers!

Hi Cristabell, welcome to the board. As long as you're a female into disabled guys, even if it's just books with para guys, that's fine with me. That sounds like a devotee to me, but it's fine if you feel that label doesn't really fit you.
Thanks for the info about the movie. I've never heard of it. Has anyone seen it? Is it available with English subtitles?

I'm watching now... a version without subtitles. I didn't find it in the version from IMDB that had the English title online...
But I'm a total noob at movie downloading. Sic Val on it. Or Cakes... or... well, anyone else. lol

I'm ashamed to say, I still haven't read it. I got it, I ordered it and it's sitting on my living room floor (it's looking at me), but I can't bring myself to read it. I'm having such a psychological block with it. But I do want to get in touch with her and figure out where this came from! (and even though I haven't read the book, you know I'll be at the chat and interested to hear all the spoilers)

Hi! ;D Your request for a list is what's got me thinking more about what I've read and what I can recommend. Sadly, most of what I've read, I haven't liked For book club a couple months ago we read The Morning Side of Dawn, and that was enjoyable, though it was an amputee guy, not a para. Definitely look for Devogirl's reviews and Amazon lists.

Welcome Christabell, nobody is going to delete you or ban your arse. The women on here have all different levels of interest. Some are mildly curious or intrigued, others require a disabled partner. As long as you have an open minded interest that is positive in nature then you are welcome here.
Yeah, it's just a name (devotee) because this is a central gathering place, but I wouldn't put too much emphasis on any sort of labels.

Yes, the reviews section and my reviews and lists on Amazon are to help make it easier to find these kinds of books. Although I must warn you, I don't have many reviews of books with paras specifically. And for goodness sake, read Ruth's book if you haven't already!
I had a huge block about reading Equal Opportunities as well, but in the end I loved it! (still no spoilers) Yes, there is a ton of SM, which might bother some people but I thought it was well worth reading, very interesting even apart from the sex. So pick it up already!

Oh and BTW that short story "Support Our Troops" is good but way too short! It was like the first chapter to a romance novel that doesn't exist. Just when I got interested in the characters, it ended. Too bad.

I discovered this whole disabled guys thing because I'm into the broody, dark past type (even if it's emotionally - from other experiences - or psihically - from life altering accidents, hence the whole para thing I'm into now). As for the movie, I haven;t found English subs yet and I don;t understand Swedish, but from what I've seen it seems interesting. And Ruth, what I've read I haven;t liked either, but I guess I shouldn't put my hope high when it comes to Harlequin type books (this is the first time I've read one). I do have a few questions about The Write Man For Her and Equal Opportunities, but I don't know which thread is best to address them...
