Uh....I think she meant emotionally? That the subject matter is too intense?
BTW a reviewer on IMDB called it "A very educational and expiring experience." Sounds like a film for the Cerebral Posse.

Yea, I meant emotionally. Watched the trailer. Cried. Too painful. Funny b/c I work with young brain damaged people all day. ALS is just .... Idk. It really does something to me.

I watched Clausens Pier last night and it is one of the few occasions that the film is better than the book though i didn't think kilroy was well cast in terms of reflecting the character in the book, he should have been more Mick Jagger and less chunky but Mike is to swoon over and i only wish he was in it more. I downloaded it last night onto the project site.
I watched so fast so much and it is very interesting, i work in the R&D field so that side of the film was great. The guy with ALS has such a great attitude i found it to be more thought provoking about life in general and to make the most of what you have and not to waste time on stuff that doesn't matter in the long run like holding grudges etc. i was in two minds about puting it on as it does cover very intense subjects and it isn't fictional but there are quite a few girls on here like myself that are interested in the science of medicine etc and this program is great at explaining the drugs they try out ect. If anything, the poor old rats get a rough deal.

I was just looking what is on there now and didn't realise that the butterfly effect was a dev movie. I have it on my sky plus box at the moment as I just like the movie but cannot remember if there is any disability in it. What is the disability as I am really looking forward to watching it now?

Just a quick note, because I suppose that not many of you check the "old&mute" subfolder. I've found another silent movie, Lucky Star from 1929 by Frank Borzage, starring the sweetheart couple of the era, Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell. It is a very funny movie, considered lost for a long time and recently found in some Amsterdam archives. Be warned: the ending is "miraculous", but hey - we are talking '29. Despite of this, it is addressing topics quite unusual for its time, like the disabled one being the good guy, or the mother of the girl being against the relationship only because the guy is disabled, etc. If you want to take a peak, there are some clips on Youtube: The movie can be downloaded from the PD Movie project: rapidshare.com/files/1704182710/Lucky%20Star.zip

Wow, thank you! I just watched the first clip on YouTube and it's great! The guy is super cute and his wheelchair is surprisingly sporty for 1929. That first scene is really devvy. I can't wait to watch the rest.
