Welcome Zaphod! So, which sort of mining is common in Canada? What do you "extract" so to speak? Also, when you said "mining", I was immediately picturing a wheeled person with hard-hat and everything going down into the mine - how were you to handle it, if you were working in mining and actually had to get into the mine? Do you have a "mining wheelchair"? Thanks Dee Dee, In Canada, it's a pretty broad range... Here in Alberta primarily coal and bitumen. Most underground operations have lifts for equipment etc. but it really hasn't come up for me so far. It's funny that you ask about a "mining" wheelchair... I heard from my equipment vendor today that the all terrain powerchair I've been waiting to demo has arrived. If you're curious www.magicmobility.com.au/wheelchair/frontier-v6-all-terrain/

That is one cool wheelchair! Yeah... supposed to be pretty good off pavement and reasonably good inside. We'll see. :-)

Gonna be dropped off tomorrow afternoon, to be honest I'm most excited about the 12" seat elevator.... it's been over a decade since I had someone literally look up to me in a conversation, or put my arms around somebody from above. --- Insert cliche about taking things for granted here ---. :-P

Well, the demo was a bit of a lemon (one weak motor) but I'm sure it gets beat on hard by a lot of users trying to find out just how "off road" it really is... I got a sense of what is could do at 100% and ordered one. Mine's gonna be black on black but otherwise identical... should make getting around work sites easier if it becomes necessary.

If that came in camo and had a scabbard attached, I could use one in the fall.

Custom colors are an option, and they offer one that's even more likely to be useful to you with 4 driven wheels... but a quad would make it look stupid in every category. These things are good for those of us who can't get on a quad or have good disability coverage. I'm one of the latter.
