We've got a very serious tradition at work: Tie-dye Fridye. It started as just a thing among the lab staff, a fun way to get away from the lab coats and business casual. It didn't take long to catch on, though, and pretty soon the union guys were asking for some technicolor swag of their own. We found pallet of old, forgotten promotional shirts in a warehouse, and some of the lab girls came over this weekend to dye them up. It went from "oh cool let's make shirts for the union guys" to "let's all bring drinks and charcuterie and fine-tune everyone's color palette to best reflect their personality" real quick, and that's how I spent my Saturday afternoon eating pickled vegetables, drinking craft cider, and thinking about how the whole thing had become an episode of Portlandia.

myrrhI love Tye-die and I even did a shirt once when I was young (called Batik in German) I was in Portland two weeks ago and I almost bought another shirt down at the market. I love the green varieties/tones of color

Always excited around this time - Spring has sprung! Mother Nature blessed California with a lot of rain this year and everything in the garden is very abundant! This is the first garden bouquet of Spring - all from my garden ! Also, a little bit of drought tolerant as well... Enjoy!!

The long stem roses are from your garden? I didn't know you could actually grow those. When I was a floral designer we got ours from South America. Cool!

Manda2212 , here are pictures of the rose bushes in the yard - to be honest, I am one to throw something in the ground, nurture it and it grows. You bringing the fact that they are long stemmed was something I really haven't even noticed ! And, now I am feeling shame for cutting the stems LOL ! This one already is showing signs of disease - ugh! Too early... The next pictures will respect those stems !
