Hello Everyone,
My name for now is "Snoopy" I am a 25-year-old straight male from New York. I -- like it seems many of the guys here -- have Cerebral Palsy which is an umbrella term for no less than 1,000 different things that most doctors only loosely understand. No two cases are exactly alike.
I ask if I'm in the right place for two reasons: first I'm not in a wheelchair, at one point in my life I was but through years of physical therapy, one very intense surgery, and then years more of physical therapy, I have worked my way into two forearm crutches. I've noticed in the few days I've spent reading through this forum that most of the people here are on -- or attracted to those who are on -- four wheels.
Secondly I know virtually nothing about devoteeism. I have been fortunate enough to enjoy a fairly "normal" sex life but with every partner there is always some hesitation (whether it be on her part or mine) about my body. I really like and almost feel liberated by the idea that there is an entire genre of people attracted to my alternative body style. If that is what the barebones of what devoteeism is then I want in.
This being the internet I am initially hesitant to share all of who I am. But I'm not all that shy so if I'm in the right place I'd be happy to share a picture and perhaps later, my name.
A brief bio about myself: I am a journalist and English teacher with a healthy case of wanderlust. I travel, I write, I eat, I see, I live.
Thank you for your perusal, -Snoopy

Welcome Snoopy! Don't worry that you might not be in the right place. You don't have to be in a wheelchair and there are other disabled members on PD who aren't either. There are also devotees who are into crutches or to who it does not matter if you use a wheelchair or crutches or nothing at all but rather that there is some sort of physical disability. Devotees are a very diverse group, the attraction is different for each dev. You don't have to know about us, just read the boards to learn about devoteism.

Thank you, the newer ones with the solid state adjustment pegs don't make nearly as much noise. I can almost be sneaky

Welcome Snoopy! You're obviously an intelligent guy and know how to spell, thank God. There can be no more attractive quality in a man than that. Shame about the lack of wheels though, not to mention the fact you are only 25 and live on the other side of the pond. Ah well, you can't have it all. I look forward to hearing what you have to say here :-) I was just on your side of the lake last week too, though not as far north. Thank you for the welcome and compliments.
