Hi elyse, I am late to the party but also Welcome from me. Sounds like you had quite a surprise finding this site. Have you always felt this way? How did you find PD? Hope you enjoy being here and learning about all things dev and getting to know everyone here. I think I first "really" realized my attraction in 2003 when Joan of Arcadia came out..... huge crush on Jason Ritter's character. I was 14! But the feeling have been there my whole life. Which makes me think in my case though it's partly genetic.

Ooh I forgot about that show... Most of us can look back on our lives and see early childhood experiences and "evidence of our dev." I don't know if I would label it genetic, but I definitely believe its something we're born with rather than something that is "inspired" in us at some point by an experience. I can't pinpoint an earliest childhood memory like some, but i do remember being drawn to and fascinated with public sightings and PWD in tv, movies, etc... *edit: bah hum bug darn quoting got all wonky... responding to your post about Joan of Arcadia and genetics Elyse

Hi elyse . Welcome to PD. Hope you're settling in well and feeling home? Slippers on, feet up, dressing gown on, roaring fire etc.,? I have to ask, because I'm extremely nosy...what is your husbands fetish then? Has he always been open about it, or did you just find out by yourself? Please feel free to completely ignore me and carry on staring into the flames whilst smoking your pipe in stony silence if you like...I shan't take offence :-) Woman's palms. He told me about it a few months into our relationship. I chose to tell him about my OCD in return (instead of being a dev which 8+ years later I still haven't told him about). He complains that there aren't internet resources for his particular interest.... Men that like feet, no problem. Men that like hands, out of luck.

I have an uncle who is attracted to women in casts... but he's a total creep about it. He takes pictures of women he sees and was fired from a job once for photocopying porn at work. That's definitively the reason I've never told anyone. My mom has always been really disgusted by my uncle and it would break my heart if she ever thought anything bad about me. I have other earlier memories as well. Joan of Arcadia made me realize I was a dev and it was nice learn the term for in when I found this group a week ago!
