And.... I figured - I have to go to that city more often. Alone, I guess š¤ Yes, I would say you should go back. What happened when you looked? Did any stare back? Did they even notice? I think no one noticed at all. But still, I always feel āguiltyā and afraid that the people I am with might notice. in fact, the girl I was with, she is the only one that I once told that I am āsomehow interestedā in guys in wheelchairs. But I didnāt feel like bringing the topic up again.

feelsunshine , where do you live? To see 4 wheelers in one day-whoa!!!!! I live in Southern California in a big City and I have one sighting every 6 weeks or so and I travel all around. I might need to move where you are šššš!!! Iāve also been in big cities thinking Iād hit the jackpot and nothing. Please know how lucky you are!!!!! I was in Heidelberg. Due to very nice weather and Easter weekend there were lots of people outside. And of course, the more people there are, also the chance of wheelers goes up š One was alone with his handbike rolling by, he was the fastest of them I guess and he looked super super sporty š Another one was alone rolling up and down the street and I later noticed him as we were walking by and he was there sitting at a table together with a woman which might have been his wife. He would have been too old for me anyways... Next one was together with a male friend and the wheeler was really nice to look at because he was in a shirt without sleeves. They looked like they are on their way to the gym. The last one was together with his family I guess and they were obviously going to have dinner in a restaurant and he was able to get out of the chair, walk the two steps into the restaurant and get back into the chair. I liked to see this.

But I didnāt feel like bringing the topic up again. I know the feeling and I think many of us do. But Iāve heard it so many times now and Iām pretty sure: people donāt realize or at least donāt think thatās why weāre staring because they donāt even know that devness is a thing. So itās pretty unlikely (or should I say the likelihood is almost non-existent) that your friends, etc. will figure it out only by your staring. PWDs on the other hand do sometimes know about us, but the guys around here have stated often enough that even they donāt know when a look is a dev look or what. I for one do pretty much plain out look when I see an attractive wheeler but usually donāt want them to notice in case they donāt realize Iām basically undressing them Iām my mind (no, Iām not actually), but think Iām just staring at the poor cripple like non devs would. It also depends on who Iām with. With my boyfriend and some friends I can even comment, most of the people donāt know Iām a dev, but know my ex used a wheelchair, so there I am also scared that theyād connect the dots, even though I donāt actually think they would.

I had an interesting sighting last night. I was at an "adult event" in Portland and the wheeler I saw there was not bad looking, dressed up in suit and top hat with a whip in his hand making sure the female "pony" who was attached to his chair, pulling him did a good job...lol

that for sure sounds interesting, Danipictures would be appreciated, although I think that 1st they would not be allowed on the board and 2nd... I can hardly believe that this picture would rise my devy feelings. Still, interesting.

"There was this one table where there were two guys in their wheelchairs and another one sitting on a bench and another table with three people, all sitting in normal chairs. In between the two tables there was an empty, sleek wheelchair with a very low backrest. I immediately noticed this one guy: young, attractive and with a great body. He was sitting on a normal chair, but the wheelchair was right behind him, so I immediately made the connection that he was a para, but chose to transfer to a normal chair, like the ones his friends were sitting in and got excited. I kept looking over at him because he was hot and I didn't want to miss the moment when he transferred back into his wheelchair." I rarely see anyone out of their chair and in a regular one, but it's the best kind of sighting when that happens.

dani, that is a spot on description. The same thing happened to me recently with a RAK guy, a type I'd normally key off of, but he wasn't generally my type, so I had more than a passing interest, but nothing particuarly special.

Hey Everyone! I had a very interesting wheeler spotting and I really felt like I need to share it! It's been literally a year since the last time I posted with a sighting so that goes to show how often I'm spotting lol! Last week my husband and I, with our infant, flew back home across the country from a vacation. We got through the airport security just in time for pre-boarding. Which is such a nice perk of traveling with a baby... but also the benefit that wheelers get to preboard too! As I stood in the pre-boarding line I noticed a young wheeler sitting just a few feet to my side. Cool, I thought. Kind of cute. Most likely a para. As we went down the hallway to the plane he was waiting right before the door for them to fetch an aisle chair for him. We stopped but couldn't figure out where to leave the baby's stroller for gate check. So yet another chance of getting to stand next to him. Actually briefly spoke to him about who was going to go first. He was still waiting and I needed to wait for my husband to return from moving the stroller. We board first and he goes right after us. While placing our bags overhead I could see him starting to transfer from the aisle chair to his seat. So wish I could have been closer to watch that! I was wondering why he would buy an aisle seat on a 5 hour flight! What if the people in the other two seats want to get up? He wouldn't be able to move lol! When we got off the plane at our destination I realized after transferring to the aisle seat he probably transferred over again to the window as that was where he was waiting as everyone else got off. Duh! I also saw out the window someone taking his chair down the steps to load it onto the plane. They guy couldn't figure out how to hold it and get down the steps at the same time and finally decided lifting it over his head would work! Kind of funny! I fly some, but have never had the chance to see anyone doing the aisle chair transfer either on or off a plane. Kind of ironic too to see a guy carrying a wheelchair. Curious what others think about seeing an empty chair knowing the wheeler is somewhere nearby.

Which sighting are you referring to? To highlight a name use @ in front of the name the person is registered under. Be aware some people are registered under a different name that what it says above their avatar pic. You can see the registration name in their profile.

This is your post I was referring to. "So, yesterday at work I saw a dude in a chair and got a long look at him but it didn't do anything to me because I didn't find him attractive in that way. He had a nice chair and all and looked like a normal guy, even if he wouldn't be in a chair I wouldn't waste much time on checking him out. So, this makes me wonder...why does it hit me with some and then not at all with others? I think I really have to find the guy hot and attractive for my devness to get triggered in a strong emotional reaction. It's the same with disabilities who are not my "favorite" disability. When the guy is not my type, doesn't matter what disability, my devness turns into a mere factual interest of some sort like pertaining to the disability or the hardware but when the guy is attractive it changes into something else. "

Had a kind of weird reverse case of being wheeler spotted this weekend with my boyfriend.
We were in the cinema watching the Avengers film (we sat in two regular seats, but put his wheelchair in one of the allotted spaces next to those seats) and towards the end of the film, this guy on his own came down from the seats behind us and plonked himself down in the empty seats to the right of us.
He sat there for about ten minutes and then went away, before coming back and sitting to the left of us for the remainder of the film. At the end of the film he hung around, as if he was waiting to see my boyfriend transfer back into his chair. He was a bit creepy and made us feel quite uncomfortable.
Not sure if he was just weird generally, or a bad dev ha ha, but I made sure I stood between him and any āactionā he might see. Keep your eyes off him mate - Iām the only one whoās look is allowed to linger!
