Totally agree blueskye101 - didn't one sentence just end mid-stream? But, despite that - WHEW!!!!! Still thinking about it !

Really enjoyed High Horse Bastard (horrific editing but, amazingly, still enjoyed it) But now I need more. Any other recommendations? Pretty sure I’ve been through everything on this thread...wondering if I should start on some fan fiction but not sure where to start!

I know that feeling, like you've read everything already, but there is always more. Dev author and former PD member Spiral Razor just uploaded her supernatural Western novel with a blind hero, check it out here: Blind Bounty: The Killian Chronicles
If you're interested in fan fiction, read mine!
Or search around for something else, the Archive of Our Own website is easy to navigate. You can search by tags for words like disability or wheelchair sex. If your search produces a lot of results, filter by kudos (likes) or by fandom. Or once you find an author you like, see what else they've published or what other stories they have bookmarked.

This post was so useful to me! Thank you!! I’m deep deep into Archive of Our Own although going abroad tomorrow so madly downloading anything vaguely devvy onto my Kindle so I can still read while out and about. Thanks again

Has anyone read the "Senses and sensations" series by Susan Laine? It just popped up as a recommendation on my goodreads after another enjoyable reread of Meg Gardiner's Evan Delaney series.
Looks interesting... follows a recovering cop after a shooting as he gets involved with a deaf volunteer police officer (both male characters).
Figured I would ask here before investing my time in a long series and didn't see the author's name when I did a search through posts (though I am on mobile, so it may not have worked properly!).
Thanks!

Never heard of that author Susan Laine, but I looked at the preview on Amazon just now. Hmmmm..... so far it seems like a pretty ok portrayal of a deaf character, intriguing. But the writing is only so-so, and even though it's supposedly set in the US the author does not seem to be American, and doesn't have a feel for the cop characters. The setting and characterization seem very unrealistic. It looks like the deaf character is only in the first two books in the series, but I could be wrong. I'm also curious if anyone has read these.

I read it back in 2014. I gave it 4 stars at the time, I think. Hated the cover because they looked like such kids to me and not how they are portrayed at all. Writing decent. She's from Finland. It was told from the cop's side of things. Don't remember how accurate the deaf portrayal was, to be honest but could not have been awful with my rating. Never read the sequel though.

Does anyone know when the next Annabelle Costa book is due for release? I LOVE her books, just wish she could release one each week 😊
