newjessI love the way you express that “it needs to grow in you”. That’s pretty much the way how it feels to me, too. I really like it, but I’m still in the process of really getting to know the album. And the “growing process” is actually something that needs to be done. In my opinion, if you love an album from the very beginning, that would be a mainstream thing and these are the albums that you listen to once and then be done with it. I believe that all my favorite music albums from different genres, were not “my favorite” right away, no, they had to grow in me first. Of course to every rule there is an exception. And that brings me to my next song I’m going to post. A couple of years ago I bought Alan Parsons Project - Tales of Mystery and Imagination and was deeply in love with it from the very beginning. I’ll post one song here, but to everyone who does not know the album: I highly recommend listening to the whole thing. You shouldn’t be in “the happy mood”.. but it works good for quiet, thoughtful, depression mode 👍

I'm currently digging Fleetwood Mac's Skies The Limit and Sweet Little Lies.

In honor of Halloween, here's a kickass track by Skeletonwitch off of their 2018 album Devouring Radiant Light. It has more of a black metal vibe.

I'm currently digging Fleetwood Mac's Skies The Limit and Sweet Little Lies. Yessss, big fan here. Little Lies is one of my all time favorites. I really appreciate that you highlighted two of Christine McVie's songs. There's something so unique and dreamy about her voice, and fantastic songwriting talent. Now I'm listening to all her jams lol

After being away for a bit, I figure this is the best place to make a soft re-entry. Right now Agalloch got me like-Since I came to metal from industrial and drone, so I've never been one to get excited about some guy in tight pants nailing a power guitar solo, but Agalloch has these sprawling soundscapes and solos that have enough drone/doom in em to keep me in a beautiful, glassy-eyed fugue state. It's pretty structured compared to the frigid atmospheric stuff I've been basting myself in while trying to work, but it just works. It's like that feeling that Folgers tries to sell in winter seasonal ads, with the fashion model hiker curled around a steaming cup of black coffee as snow falls beyond the cabin porch. Except that moment is never perfect because while you're sitting there drinking your scalding coffee, every part of you that isn't in direct contact with the mug is freezing and you're just left sitting there wondering why you bought shitty mass-marketed coffee in a plastic tub. But Agalloch is like, actually that feeling. That perfect balance of warm and cold and comfort and empty. Anyway. Good stuff. It's actually against a local ordinance to listen to a single one of their songs, rather than the album as a whole, but I'll put myself at risk for this post. You're welcome.

Lord Huron's "Strange Trails" album. A great and (so far) largely unknown band. Do yourself a favor and listed!
