Still watching Dragon Ball and still enjoying it.
Was a little disappointed with the ending of Hill House.
Will probably start with AHS season 5 soon. I haven’t yet because I was too scared, especially to watch it alone. Season 1 but especially 2 really freaked the shit out of me.

The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs is what I'm watchin' on Netflix right now. Four Rooms meets Three Amigos, in other words, bloody brilliant and I'm really not too far in. I watched it. Wasn’t impressed. I just don’t like that type of comedy in general though. The Scary Movies Series never did it for me and it’s along those lines for me. My stepdad insisted on it for our family vacation tv night. On a side note, I’ve watched The Christmas Chronicles twice thus far and will likely see it again before the holidays pass. Kurt Russell is an entertaining Santa and it’s such a cute movie After watching the whole thing, I can see your point. I have an affinity for the very black 'live action cartoon' humour used in the first segment but I know that's not to everyone's taste. The other segments were a mixed bag. The James Franco one was short and sweet with the same daft humour as the first but toned down somewhat. Liam Neeson and the speech-reciting Quad Amp was interesting at first but slowed to a crawl, the ending being very sad. Tom Waits'seseses segment was easily the 2nd best of the bunch perhaps too slow in parts but wonderfully done bonus points for having him sing. The next one I don't remember too much of, there was a Jack Russell though, lovely. And the final one was interesting, almost like a Tales From The Darkside episode but it fizzled out at the end. I'll have to see if I can track Christmas Chronicles down, I'm not a big fan of Christmas films (with some exceptions) but you had my attention at Kurt Russell. I tried watching The Grinch (2000) the other day and what was entertaining as a kid just seemed....off to me. Carey's alright, but otherwise the Whos in this film aren't endearing at all. I hate to say it but the whole vibe they give off is almost creepy. Give me the Chuck Jones short any day.

I actually didn’t mind the opening scene about Buster Scruggs. It’s the rest of the movie. The quad scene drug on and on and on and on....I laughed at Franco briefly. The rest I was just left staring at the screen blankly

Yeah, that's the trouble with anthologies. Chances are that you'll segments that just stop the film dead, or just don't fit or whatever. Four Rooms actually starts with one of these but thankfully it picks up afterwards.
Horror anthologies can also suffer a similar fate, as there'll be some things that'll scare more than others.

I've been ridiculously sick the last few days so I watched a lot of Netflix.
I saw Hold the Dark, The Lodgers and Cathedral by the Sea.
I would only recommend the first two if you like bleak/Gothic, slow- moving, vague plot, and a lot of beautifully underlighted shots.
They were perfect for my delirium though😂😂😂

Figured since we have a what are you listening to... and other fandom threads... just want to know what people are watching in general. Just watched Edge of Tomorrow... FUCKING LOVED IT! So damn unique and original... and let me say.. it's every soldier's wet dream to be able to train to the point of dying only to respawn until you become the ultimate super soldier and kick ultimate ass. It had a love story without being hoakie about it. AND Emily Blunt is hot... even more so as a rotor blade wielding bad ass alien slaying hottie. Gotta hand it to the Japanese though... This movie was based on one of their novels... I didn't know that before watching it.. just had a feeling since I know that there are many hollywood works that are inspired else straight ripped off from Japanese anime, novels, and manga. There is something haunting, monotonous about how they presented it... yet without ever being boring.... and it had interjections of some dark but hilarious humor throughout. It screamed foreign... too much nuance for the average hollywood action sci-fi. Thoughts Celaena hartmannwrites? SO.. now I post that questions to all of you.. what movie or series did you just Netflix and chill to? The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time. -Mark Twain I saw edge of tomorrow on the cinema back in the day and I still keep re watching it since it's so good. Now I am into watching Gotham (series).

I started GoT from the beginning a couple weeks ago. I think I'm more addicted now than I was the first time.

"Netflix Originals" are wildly inconsistent in quality, so I'm cautiously optimistic about this one. I love this Mads Mikkelsen guy though, ever since he played the baddie in Casino Royale.

OOOH, I love Mikkelsen. The best bad guy in Bond but this might be over my threshold for violence. Might try it with a pillow close to cover my eyes. Let us know how it is. Got a long list already of stuff i keep saying will watch. Then get side tracked with Anthony Bourdain or the new show about "tiding" Kondo- Spark of Joy with is a joke since i"m a collector and not hoarder but lots of "stuff".

Yeah, it definitely looks violent! I'm also overlooking the fact that it looks like a John Wick ripoff and that it co-stars Vanessa Hudgens, but you know...it has Mads, so we'll see. Remind me and I'll give you a report on whether it's worth watching for you.

It is SO good. laur can back me up on that lol I've watched about half of the first season, but I haven't quite connected to it yet. It's one I watch when I need a sci-fi time travel fix and I can't find anything else. I haven't given up on it though. Sometimes it just takes me a while to get into shows. I didn't like Breaking Bad at first and gave up on it after a handful of episodes - then a year or so later tried again and it became one of my all-time favorites. Tek mentioned 12 Monkeys, which I recently discovered and binged the hell out of! GREAT show!
