I never sold ice cream :-(. But I sold chocolate fruits (apples, grapes and so on with chocolate coating for Christmas) and other sweets at the Christmas market. Great job for a dev, there were quite some disabled customers :-).
My first job (I was 14 years old at that time) was an unpaid internship at a book store where I actually did nothing for a week but listen to the owner's explanations of her work. My first paid job was writing articles for a local newspaper when I was about 16 years old.

First job was washing dishes in a local restaurant and helping with the salads. I also babysat for American families in our communities (lots of American military families). I also cleaned hotel rooms. Oh and I was a church youth group leader for a few years.
I started an apprenticeship in restaurant management when I was 16, then quit that after a year and started an apprenticeship as an administrative assistant in a Camping/Outdoors company, finished that.
Moving around so much I worked all kinds of jobs throughout my life including a carhop at Sonic Drive In, a waitress in a Southern Pancake restaurant (Sundays after church it got crazy), or also as a merchandiser for American Greetings where part of my job was destroying thousands of beautiful greeting cards after the specific seasons like Christmas, Easter, or such (I hated this waste). I also worked long term for a garbage management company, taking care of about 150 000 trash cans...lol

My first job was lifeguarding at a summer camp. I did it three years in a row. Best. Job. Ever. Girls love the lifeguard Speaking of ice cream, my advertising internship was with an ice cream company. I had all the free ice cream I wanted my senior year of college. What a great perk! I think my son is still waiting for those girls....he is a lifeguard but it is at an indoor swimming pool on the military installation, all he gets is elderly folks and veterans for water aerobics class and units of soldiers for PT and training

Did the babysitting and candystriper during high school. Then when 16 got first paid job. Was working as flagger, planted grass on golf course and bare patches, counted trucks(yea, really)Had to make sure they were where they supposed to be. All kinds of weird things they found for me to do. Was big resort community they were building. First time I was working with a bunch of guys and I was soo shy. When on golf course with all these older guys I wouldn't stop for water breaks cause it meant I had to go over to the water container that the guys hung around so got heat stroke and passed out instead. Way not to be noticed. Lol

Oh and I inspected bikinis for free! Are you still doing this? I need to get my bikini e-tested, but the price has gotten out of hand. I think there needs to be a reform on this. Universal bikini inspections for all.

I was an intern for a very large chemical company. I was in their corporate headquarters, working in their sustainability group, which makes sure the company is being environmentally friendly and lowering their carbon foot print etc. It was a decent job and paid well so I consider myself very lucky to have gotten it. Also this company was very friendly to people with disabilities. Everything was accessible and there was even another wheeler in the same building as me.

My first job was in a mailroom. We spent half the time waiting for the mail to come in, smoking cigarettes and playing cards. The other half we busted our butts to get done so we could go early. It was a great job

I'm cracking up at all of the ice cream jobs. When I was a little kid, I used to want to work at Dairy Queen so bad. I thought being the one to make those perfect cones was the curl on top was the coolest thing in the world!
