You should do a vlog as well once you meet in person. Not because I said so and not because I would totally watch it but just so that you can prove your point ...

Nope. Malibu, it doesn't matter much, it just boggles my mind when people say that SMA is a type of MD. I was trying to be silly about it, but I came across as more serious than I meant to.

Maaaaaaybe we could make a lil somethin somethin . We actually do talk very seriously about uploading some stuff to pornhub. So a little bit of cutsey shit could be fun too.

I've been asking myself for years if Shane's girlfriends (like the one now and the one he had before) are devs. I know, not everyone who is with a disabled guy has to be a dev, but I always had this strange feeling about it. Also, he is often joking around on his blog about "how sexy his atrophied limbs" are. Sure, he is doing that to create laughter, but maybe there's more to that.
On a side note: He is getting the Spinraza treatment and seems to be noticing some positive effects.

I've noticed this question come up in their video comments often, she said she only learned about devs recently, and while both her and Shane respect that community, she is not a dev. I've watched all 5 or 6 episodes so far and their vlog has been getting better IMO. It's all-around funnier, a better narative/developing story, and better editing. I'm excited to see where it goes. Thought this one was particularly relevant for here

I guess this is why I was never invited to the camps growing up since what I have is it’s own category. I can look like and be affected like I have MD and MS all day long, but because I have Escobar’s then no camps for me. It’s like being Rudolph of the pwd community

I knew Shane from camp actually... I'm personally lukewarm on the comedy but love the concept and community he's building! I think if he started a disability-friendly dating site, sponsored one already designed site, or got like OKC to add disability friendly filters, he could change the game for devos and PWDs alike! I'm tempted to ask him... Should I?

Just bumping this thread up as I noticed a couple of vids on youtube from a guy who is calling Shane's relationship with Hannah a fake one. His logic behind his statement is that it appears that Shane is vlogging extremely similar topics about Hannah that he did about his previous girlfriend. With titles like 'People think my girlfriend is my career'. And how he posted similar posed pictures and took his ex with him on his previous book launch. I guess if at first you don't succeed try again. I can't fault the chap as he appears to be having fun. That seems like kind of a silly accusation. Shane, for about 10 years now, has been a pretty public personality and has had his life being broadcasted on the Internet, first via his blog, and now via YouTube. He dated that first girl, and understandably, she was a part of his story. After breaking up and entering a new relationship, he has a new girlfriend that is a part of his story. He moved to Minnesota to live with her, that’s fairly dramatic for a “fake relationship”. He’s always wanted to be public and promote awareness of what his life is like, it’d be kind of strange if he entered a relationship and DIDN’T talk about it online. Think of any of your friends in relationships... they probably post pictures, and if they break up and get into a new relationship... they will probably post pictures with the new person.

I guess it doesn't help that her name is Hannah and the ex was named Anna...

I effing love Shane and Hannah. I watched those videos accusing them off being fake. The dude comes off as an Incel and is totally unwilling to accept that hot Hannah could genuinely be in love with someone with a disability. It's really gross and nearly 100 percent of the people commenting on those videos feel the same. The dude is clearly bitter and lives in his mom's basement and has nothing better to do. Sad!

I'm just glad he didn't call SMA a type of muscular dystrophy. Mean MS? There’s a standup comedian with muscular dystrophy (his name escapes me right now) with a bit along those lines: “I’ll meet people who ask about my condition and I tell them ‘I have muscular dystrophy.’ They respond ‘Ah, I know MS.’ ... where did I lose you?” Edit: I remembered his name: Brett Leake
