Yep I am, must be the low backed chair , cambered wheels and my charm that gets me in trouble .... having daughters older than the young lady who wanted to 'destroy' me was one of the reasons I politely declined. She's happily dating a quad guy her own age now Wow, this actually happens? Geez... some guys have all the luck. What's your secret? Sometimes I don't think I could ever marry... It's not for everyone, man. It could even screw up some insurances.

For a second I couldn't tell if you were talking about marriage, or trysts, haha. But marriage, I don't know. I'm pretty sure I just haven't met the right person yet!

I have a electric and a manual wheelchair and I feel much more comfortable in my manual wheelchair when it comes to aesthetic. But I was wondering, what you Devs think about it? Are Devs here, that would prefer an electric chair?

Manuals are nice but balance is tricky and it can be more work. Power chairs can open up a lot of positional options...

I guess I lied about whether or not I can say you look cool or not, cause I don't really know anything about power chairs and I thought you were in a manual haha. Why are there push handles on it? Seems like it would be pretty heavy to push.

I wish my powerchair was more of a hovercraft, bumps and kerbs would fade into irrelevance. My boyfriend has a sporty manual wheelchair (very hot 😍), but occasionally when we're out he will ask for some help. I love it because i know he is strong enough to manage perfectly well without help but im the only person he would EVER ask (or allow) to push. That just makes me feel very close to him and very loved.

As someone new to the wheelchair game....how....when...what....why....and huh ? Where do you get these chairs ? Does insurance cover the costs ? The hospital put me in a chair Didn’t think they were like clothes or accessories but just a ways for mobility...for a little bit of freedom. Interesting

How you get a chair is really varied depending on several things such as what country you live in, what type of insurance you have and how you were injured. No chair lasts forever. If you have an acquired injury you will quickly realize that the chair you were given initially won't be what you want long term. It takes time and trial and error to figure out what you like best and what works best. How long have you been disabled?

If you have an acquired injury you will outgrow the chair yoi were given initially. It takes time and trial and error to figure out what you like best and what works best. How long have you been disabled? Emma....thanks for explaining that. I’ve been disabled since October 2016. It’s been two years but with the surgeries, aftercare physical therapy and more aftercare I feel like I’m just now trying to get back to some “ normalcy “ .

They sent me home from rehab in a loaner, but measured me for a real chair in rehab. I got my chair 2 months later. Insurance paid for part of it. They paid for basic stuff, but since I got special items like a titanium frame and spinergy wheels I had to pay for the additional cost myself. Even so they fucked up measuring the chair and I just had a guy come out to shorten the sling so my thighs didn't rub. Apparently I don't get another chair for another 5 years from insurance. I've already dinged this one up getting it in and out of the car. I hope it lasts 5 years...
