I agree with Dani. Or, who/what are you looking for?
Welcome to PD.

Hmmm, yeah.
How old is this picture? It looks scanned and the ball chain necklace looks like it's from the late 90's. No idea what is going on here...lol.

It is me, and yes it was copied from my old computer. It was taken in 2009. But I still look the same, just a little gray and a beard. I will have more pics upcoming. Just wanted to put something up. I’ll soon have a good one put up there. I certainly won’t put anything that isn’t me.

No problem. I’ll get one on here. You will see I pretty much look the same. However, the less then welcoming attitude I have received will probably keep me from being on here very much, if at all. Standby.

Oh, yes..........didn’t want to say anything, but I’ll just go ahead. I find it hard to hear the about how dated my photo is when only one person commenting on this actually has a real photo at all. And that’s half a face. I tell you what, I’ll update my photo, which is pretty much the same look, if all of you just even put a photo at all. Cool?

I just noticed my profile pic is 3 years old, but there is no way that I am changing it. I am far too ugly now, and my inbox will stop being flooded with messages!

I was looking for a new restaurant, then I found it. Great little Malaysian joint that serves the best roti canai in a 50 mile radius, I'm willing to bet. The curry was just properly spiced; not too hot that you couldn't taste the ingredients, but not so mild as to be dull. Solid 8/10. They lost some points from me for serving food on cold plates, other than that, I found what I was looking for, and I think it's the start of a great relationship.

My ex said that my habit of warming plates before dinner was the most ridiculous rich kid thing he'd ever seen, but honestly I just thought it was common sense to keep the food up to temp. Maybe he'd like that Malaysian place. If they were merely room-temperature plates, it probably wouldn't have bothered me, but I think it must be cold in the kitchen (I'm in the Midwest, it's full on fecking freezing here, we're gonna get a blizzard tomorrow.) Anyway, the plates were actually cold-cold, not room temperature, but like chilly to the touch. Now, my mango chicken was served in the mango shell/skin whatever, so most of it was still piping hot, but anything that touched the plate got instantly cold, so that was a slight bummer. Flavor-wise though, that mango chicken might be the most glorious thing I've eaten.
Looked pretty similar to this.

The roti canai alone is worth going for, though. This is roughly what it looked like.

You know, now that we're talking about it, I don't think I've tried Malaysian food. The idea of mango chicken is getting me all titillated. How similar would you say it is to Vietnamese? The combination of sour, spicy, hot and cold, and the textures on a bahn mi sandwich are are the sort of thing that inspires artists. Bahn mi might be the most perfect sandwich ever made. Starts with the great bread. Flaky, crispy but fluffy. The pickled carrots and radish are amazing foils to the savory meats. I've only had a few Malay dishes so far; Panang curry, mango chicken and the roti canai. The mango chicken marked all the boxes; sweet, sour, spicy, salty, savory, bitter (from the cilantro.) The sauce tasted like it had a hint of sesame oil for nuttiness, fish sauce, hot sambal chili sauce, vinegar, and something sweet; palm sugar maybe? And several other ingredients. The mango was slightly under-ripe, so it wasn't too mushy; it had just enough bite, but it was still soft enough and flavorful; sweet and sour like mango should be. It was also accompanied by onions and red bell peppers in the sauce. The chicken seemed to be pre-boiled, so it was tender breast or thigh meat, and had no shit in it like gristle. Quite literally one of the most complete flavor profiles in a dish I've ever experienced. The cilantro was a nice palate cleanser.

This. Looks. Amazing. You've inspired a food expedition tomorrow. The roti must be consumed. The roti is amazing and I could eat it all day. The bread is like a cross between how a tortilla tastes when it's crisped up in a quesadilla, and the tenderness of a crepe. The sauce is a thin curry soup-like consistency, not horribly spicy but with enough bite to know it's got something there. It's savory and has a couple of chunks of chicken and potatoes. You tear off the roti bread and spoon on or dip in the curry, cradling little bites of potatoes or chicken. I can't describe the curry, other than, if you've had Indian dal or lentil soup, think of that with a bit of a little kick of heat and typical curry spices, but none are overly pronounced.
