Welcome Amee. It is amazing how we had this feeling from when we were young and dont know where it came from. I think I was born a dev, who knows the reason. But I am proud to be one. Thanks for the welcome, pam! It feels liberating to see other women be so chill about it! I'm not quite there yet, but on a good path, I think

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Dani You're probably right that there aren't any definitive answers. I also just want to clarify, that I don't wonder about it in a negative way (anymore). I've come to the point where I can honestly say that I love myself the way I am (though I'm still terrified of other people's judgment). I'm just generally fascinated with human psychology and sexual psychology as a part of that. I think the more you read about sexuality, the more you realize how weird people are in general - which actually made me feel a little less weird I would just love to know more about it out of curiosity, not because I don't accept myself. And it's not like it occupies my mind all the time, thankfully. As for the country... I'm still a little paranoid, because this is a public site and since I'm from a small country, I feel like the world will instantly know who I am, if I say the country (which is obviously ridiculous, but oh well). I'd be more than happy to tell you in a private message, though! Hello Amee I‘m a total newbie here myself, but nevertheless want to welcome you. In an relate very well to what you said. I was all paranoid myself in the beginning (which was only three weeks ago). But thanks to the great people here I have become much more comfortable now, even tomthe extent to show my pictures here. As I was told: just in case someone you know from your everyday life discovers you here, everybody here is here for a certain reason. It’s very unlikely a person finds this place just by coincidence. Relax. But no need to push yourself, if you don’t want to mention the small European country. I am from Germany by the way. Enjoy! Thanks for the welcome linda! I think it's awesome that you're comfortable showing your picture (very nice picture btw)! You're right that people won't find this place accidentally. But since I've never told anyone in real life, I'm not really comfortable with just anyone finding out, even if they're here for a reason. I guess, I'm just a generally private person (and not at all into the whole Social Media and presenting yourself on the Internet thing), so the idea of a potentially worldwide public being able to read what I write is unsettling to me in itself

Everybody needs to do what they are most comfortable with. No pressure here at all.

Thanks for the welcome, pam! It feels liberating to see other women be so chill about it! I'm not quite there yet, but on a good path, I think It takes time when you’re discovering a new community of people who have similarities to an aspect of yourself that isn’t often shared. I would say most of us understand that too. It’s been a long road for me since I discovered PD as as a teenager and, for a long time, I didn’t even post. It’s great to be a part of this community though and to see all the ways we are alike and different and to get to share that space with PWD as well. Anyway, wishing you a warm welcome!

Welcome to the boards! Kudos to you for joining with a thoughtful intro and then sticking around for a few days and being active! That’s a nice sign as many new members disappear almost instantly.
It’s a really great community, hope you enjoy it!

Welcome Amee! I'm Dutch, but live in Krakow, Poland. Would that be in your Central European neighbourhood? You can react via pm if you don't want to post the reaction, of course.

Yes, welcome, Amee! I just joined yesterday and am still surprised devoteeism even exists. Nevertheless, please always remember that weird isn't the same thing as bad. 😎 I'm looking forward to getting to know you and the rest of the community.

I somehow missed your intro and didn't welcome you. I apologize because I always try and welcome the devs who write thoughtful intros. Its great to see you have been participating in the discussions here a bit. I encourage you to keep that up. This can be a great community. I have been here a while so don't have any new ideas about threads but am always happy to respond when someone asks a thoughtful question. I am looking forward to getting to know you more.

Thank you, Emma! I've been on a bit of a hiatus after the first two weeks, because real life got in the way. But I hope to be a little more active again and join in the conversations
