I am not at all fond of cooking, but such is life, kids must eat - or so I am told. The best thing I ever bought for my kitchen is the Instapot (an electric pressure cooker) and I LOVE it! Changed our lives. We eat a lot of dried beans now since cooking them in the instapot is sooooo easy. Rice comes out super fluffy and yummy. If anyone is interested in instapot recipes, let me know. I have quite a few now. When my kids were younger we used a crock pot quite a bit. Roast and red Beans and rice were two favorites. I dint have an instant but I recently got an sir fryer. How do you like the air fryer?

Oooh food and cooking 😁 I love cooking, much prefer to start with raw ingredients than pre-prepared sauces etc. I've quite an intense and stressful job and just find it so relaxing. Dunno why. Now here's a thought how about a Para in the kitchen YouTube channel, could be popular 😋 Absolutely! That’s a fantastic idea! You should start one, Tykes! 😀 As a matter of fact, I don’t really find the cooking part relaxing, rather a bit stressful. And then the cleaning afterwards! But the eating part is good, so I put up with it...

Could you understand the Jenglish? ;-) i could understand most of it but with some ingridients i was like what but i think i might try cooking this dish somewhere next week. if i do i will let you know how it was. Yes, please! Ask me if there is anything you really don’t understand. I‘m pretty good at Jenglish.

Oh, food, great!!! I usually do the same range of recipes over and over again, but actually it would be great to try out some new things. I like to cook Asian food a lot ( myrrh , sounds like you are on the same track here). And there is this fantastic Japanese YouTube channel called „Cooking with Dog“ (or kukkingu wisu doggu, as it is authentically pronounced... ;-) It features a wide range of recipes, it’s very simple and easy to understand and it one of the funniest things I‘ve ever come across: the basic idea is that the poodle Francis is running the show. He is seated on a pillow behind the oven watching the cooking process while patiently yet vividly panting on the food. A japanese voice from the off is commenting each step in finest Jenglish - it might be a bit hard to understand in the beginning, but once you get used to it, it’s easy. And to create the perfect atmosphere for sophisticated high class cooking, there is some gentle classical piano music (a Chopin etude if I’m not mistaken) in the background. Unfortunately the dog died a couple of years ago. He was replaced by stuffed one, but I like the old videos with real Francis much better. Check this out, it’s fantastic stuff: francis be like damn girl give me some of that tasty chikken because those chikken wings did look good. did you ever make it yourself? If you watch these videos on YouTube, you can go to the comment section and find a nice list of all ingredients and measures and so forth. Loved your comment about Francis wanting the chicken btw. 😂 I‘ve never seen Francis this out of his mind before.

Rice with red beans is my standard for the kids, they can eat it every day. Some fried egg aside and fresh pepper and cucumber, and it makes a fully nutritious healthy meal. I actually feel a bit bad for them for serving the same all the time. But then I think not my fault they refuse to eat everything else. I usually also have some other dishes aside, fried green leave stuff that you can find in the Asian supermarkets. But none of them ever touches that. My boys are so much into rice with Yukari (some Japanese seasoning you put on top of the rice) that they eat tons of it. And afterwards there is this competition who has the rounder belly. 😂

^^^^^^^is an interesting meal for kids. Mine LOVE rice and eggs and will eat cucumbers. not too sure what they will say about the beans. Maybe I should try it. What is the easiest way w/o doing the crock pot or insta pot thing? Just dry rice and dry beans in water on low? I feel like kids in America eat crap. My easy go to is mac and cheese or something similar, fish sticks/chicken nuggets/turkey meatballs and some frozen veggie/carrot sticks. I don't make that often but they get it probably 1x/week.

I'm having the same thing I have every weeknight. A small salad consisting of broccoli, cucumber, and a small amount of (unsalted) sunflower seeds sprinkled on. That seems excessively healthy. No carb energy or protein? How are you sustained on this? And why no salt?
Last meal I cooked was mussels that I smoked, mixed into red sauce with bacon and linguine. My plan for this week is that on Thursday I'm going to make tandoori chicken on the grill with curried potatoes and some kind of vegetable, probably cabbage.

Oh, I love cooking! I have a vast collection of cook books and love to try out new things. My partner is vegetarian and has rather conservative eating habits, so during the week it is usually mashed/boiled/fried potatoes, dumplings, pancakes, or pasta, or rice with lots of fresh vegetables and tofu/vegan burger/fried egg/ the occasional fillet of fish.
If we have people over, I like to really make an effort and will usually prepare an elaborate 4-course meal, with starter, salad, main course and one or two desserts, all made from scratch with fresh produce.

I like it so far. I haven't made a lot of things in it. I've done chicken and fish and it cooked them faster than baking. I've done precooked chicken tenders and they were almost as good as if the were fried. I do have an air fryer cookbook but I haven't tried any if those recipes yet.

And if i cant figure out you can be my jenglish guide 😁

I don't like salt and I need to stay away from it anyway because of possible kidney stones. I try to avoid carbs in general, but I do have some with lunch occasionally and I always have protein at lunch, too.

Making fajitas with chicken and lots of sausage. Unhealthy but worth it.

Making fajitas with chicken and lots of sausage. Unhealthy but worth it. That was my dinner today, too! I'm of the opinion that anything Tex-Mex is always worth it. I'm way too obsessed with that style of cooking.

It's very fulfilling. Like something? Wrap it in wheat! Or a coeliac friendly substitute.
