I'm 28 [add smart, reflective comment here, because I don't really have feelings about it either way ].

Thanks for the Birthday messages guys.
Always interesting to see how diverse PD is age-wise. What's also interesting is how much we can change within the space of a few years too and how slow but impactful such a change can be.
Do any of us really stay 'the same' throughout our lives?

Even though as you get older you do care less about some things, like what people think about you, there's another side of it for me. I feel like I'm running out of time to do things that I want to do, like now the deadline is getting close. I miss that feeling the young have that they have their whole lives ahead of them

Care less? The fuck? I get more neurotic as I age and care more.

sy that's because you're 24 lol The whole "caring less" thing didn't kick in for me until I was approaching 30

Yeah, my fear of 'missing out' and other associated fears relating to not being at a certain 'point' in my early 20s have pretty much gone now. Granted there's still a few things for me to do before I feel truly 'settled' but I no longer panic or regret about having 'wasted' my early 20s. So I do think neurotic behaviours, whilst not passing completely, certainly fade away with time. And sy, that'll more than likely happen to you. Probably with you being unaware of it happening. There's nothing wasteful about learning from mistakes. It can be unpleasant, but it's important. If everything went right and if everything went as planned, then I wouldn't have grown. Yes, I still have problems and demons that will haunt me to the grave but in a short space of time I've been able to confront them, something that '15 Hopper wouldn't have done. Thing is, we're all different and if we constantly put ourselves under pressure to be like others and achieve what they have by a certain point then it doesn't do any of us any favours.

I feel like I'm running out of time to do things that I want to do, like now the deadline is getting close. I miss that feeling the young have that they have their whole lives ahead of them That feeling is an illusion. No one has a guaranteed amount of time. Achieve what you want now, but analyze why you want it first. Chasing something because someone else has it/did it, will feel hollow once you have it, because you probably never really wanted it in the first place. My goals are to be financially comfortable, and surrounded by friends. I think if you have that, you already have everything.
