Even though as you get older you do care less about some things, like what people think about you, there's another side of it for me. I feel like I'm running out of time to do things that I want to do, like now the deadline is getting close. I miss that feeling the young have that they have their whole lives ahead of them That feeling is an illusion. No one has a guaranteed amount of time. Achieve what you want now, but analyze why you want it first. Chasing something because someone else has it/did it, will feel hollow once you have it, because you probably never really wanted it in the first place. My goals are to be financially comfortable, and surrounded by friends. I think if you have that, you already have everything. I mainly want to achieve traveling, visiting different places, and going out and doing different things. My husband is a homebody. I would especily like to see different parts of the country.

You must be confused as hell, brother! It's time to do some tequila shooters and watch some Matlock. Whoa, slow down pal, I can't stay up that late! Matlock doesn't even start until 8:30!

I'm 40, but act 25, look 35 and feel 75. Although you should never ask a lady her age I so know where you’re coming from @sir Paul. 2 of these figures ring true for me but I’m not saying which 2 or in which context! 🤣

sy that's because you're 24 lol The whole "caring less" thing didn't kick in for me until I was approaching 30 Wait until your 53! You rule the world and don’t give a ?!$& what others think! I wish I would/could have had this confidence in my 20’s, 30’s and 40’s! It’s pretty empowering!

There's nothing wasteful about learning from mistakes. It can be unpleasant, but it's important. If everything went right and if everything went as planned, then I wouldn't have grown. Thing is, we're all different and if we constantly put ourselves under pressure to be like others and achieve what they have by a certain point then it doesn't do any of us any favours. Wise words, and so true! Thank you!

I just wanted to gage the general ages on this place. I'm 24 myself. 40 as of late. Nice age. A co-worker stated, just a few days ago, that she would like to be 16 again. Well, those were good times in many ways, but for all the money in the world I would not want to go back to that age again, for in some ways it was a time with much more stress and unhappiness and insecurities... no, I would not want to go back, I am happy about gaining age (if not wisdom with it, unfortunately). :-D

Thanks for your kind words, much appreciated. Like you, I would NOT want to go back to my teens or early 20s and if I could, I'd be tempted to change EVERYTHING. Well, most things.
Still, we're all different and I can appreciate that the teens really were great times for some.

There were certainly mistakes that I wish I could undo, but I've learned too much through my experiences to want to go back. How are you doing so far today, btw?

You are quite welcome, Loulou. I've been keeping an eye, and it seems you are doing very well here. I'm proud of you! It's not easy to walk into a room full of invisible strangers and start talking, but you're doing it.
