Was just sat here (oddly) thinking of how, when i was a child, i desperately wanted a pet monkey. I thought it could wear my doll clothes lol. If you could have ANY pet, what would you choose ?

Another cat, a German Shepherd (I think they are beautiful) and maybe a Guinea pig. As of now, I have 1 cat and we have a rabbit.

I had ferrets for many years I got my first in college when I was 17. I was dating a guy who had two and wanted two of my own. We moved in together for a while and had 4 at one time. They were so cute and fun. Now I'm happy with cats or maybe if I had a nice safe yard one of those huge bunnies one day. I would not want any type of pet that would be happier out in the wild. Sure there are tons of animals I'd like to get close to and pet but having them in my house seems cruel.

Dream pet...a pet burro following me around my dream farm in the Cotswolds. A girl can dream right? Currently, the pet mom of 1 dog, 3 cats, a tortoise and a parakeet. Plus, a wide variety of backyard wild animals that call the backyard home !!

My son just got a small adult corn snake. Never in a million years did I ever imagine a snake in my home. I have not had the courage to hold her by myself yet, but she is such a sweetie. She is so easy to look after, and I surprisingly really like her. No mess, no smell, no noise. Eats once a week, and poops once a week. We are currently awaiting her first shed, but nothing yet.

I'm really only a dog and cat person, certainly not reptiles or arachnids. 🤮
I don't like animals that have to be kept in cages or tanks being kept as pets, and I especially agree with Emma about animals that would be happier in the wild. That said I'm sure some would argue a house is a cage for dogs and cats so maybe my argument is pointless.

I REALLY wanted a corn snake as a teen. They are just too precious. Their diet is a little... gruesome though, so I'm not totally sure if I could actually handle having one. If it were viable, I'd totally want a pet capybara. They look like they are so relaxed and zen like 100% of the time. I recommend anyone having a bad day to immediately go look up capybara videos on YouTube.

I always dreamt of having a dog but I never got one. My parents thought that I wouldn’t take the responsibility serious and they were afraid that they would have to end up for caring for the dog. Now that I live alone, it’s also not an option since I work full time and it wouldn’t make sense to have a poor dog sitting home alone all day.

Never gonna happen but I wish: a cat (I’m extremely allergic and even so called “hypoallergenic cats” produce the protein that cause allergy) or any corvid, like a raven or a magpie, they’re so smart and beautiful!
Might happen when I finally move to my own place with no flatmates: a fishtank with either a betta fish or a few guppies or even tetras

Ive worked with cattle, sheep, horses and goats. Kept ducks and chickens. Kids pets have been dogs, cats, guinea pigs, corn snakes and a parrot. I think a monkey is about the only animal i havent had ! Oh and i had a neighbor who kept a tiger ....

In case youre thinking of getting a pet, here is my useful guide (from personal experience) : Cattle : easy enough until you need to worm them Sheep : spend their entire lives thinking of new ways to die Horses: buying and running a Ferrari is cheaper Goats : spend their whole lives finding ways to escape..thereby wanting you to kill yourself Ducks/chickens : if youve ever cleaned out a chicken shed, asbestos is healthier Dogs: you share more with them than with your kids/partner Cats : you are hypnotised into doing everything they want, even though you know they despise you. Snake : do you really want something in your home that can dislocate their jaw and swallow whole something 5 times their size ? Parrot : extremely clever aggressive psychotic

I like cats because there is just something about coming home from a stressful day and having them lavish you with indifference. The problem with goldfish is that they're hard to train and aren't particularly good at returning affection.
