Have any female devs considered using apps to try and find PWDS if so did you have any success?

I didnt know there was an app ? I would have thought this community is too small to be worth writing an app. Obviously tinder, grindr etc are location based search apps..is that what you mean ?

I’m in the U.K. and found my (para) boyfriend via a disabled dating site.
To stand a reasonable chance of success I suggest you have to be willing to: • be patient • sift through a lot of fakers, time-wasters and unsuitables • write a decent profile and attach a clear, RECENT photo of yourself • travel to meet and date someone. Long distance relationships take work, trust and dedication • be honest and up front about your disability, but don’t over-explain it. I never hid the fact I was a dev, but I think a lot of people do. I tried to put it across that it was just one facet of the whole me. That being said, if you are open to meeting a dev - say so in your profile!
Good luck.

I met my boyfriend on a uk dating site. Its worth trying but you will need to be prepared to hear from a lot of (strange) people. But there are lovely and genuine people so its a bit of a lottery. Good luck.

That's great! And thanks for the tips do you mind me asking what site you used? A lot of them are linked, but don’t tell you. They are this side of the pond and also abroad too. Whispers4U (what a godawful name) was one of them, but I can’t remember the other ones, sorry. The website is pretty dire in the way it’s laid out. A very dated dating site ha ha. Beware the fact they make it very hard for you to cancel your account if you sign up as a paid member...and it’s not cheap! I just kind of loitered with intent and got lucky :-)

Don't talk to me about dating sites, be they British, American or international. This latest one. I'm on has cost me £95 for a year's subscription and so far, despite having been open about the fact that I am disabled and open about the fact that I wouldn't mind being with a devotee. I have had no responses at all. Absolutely zero.
It is worth mentioning that I started a similar thread about this subject and somebody came through talking about the need to make the first contact and the fact that 70% of your emails will elicit no response. But that means there are 30 that will get through – well, yes, that's all very well but it is extremely disheartening sending email after email out into the ether and getting absolutely nowhere. I'm starting to wonder if I have grown an extra head without my knowledge or I am the carrier of some terrible disease all suffer from incurable body odour. I don't know, but I'm getting nowhere fast! If anybody can suggest any help I would very much appreciate it and (I know you will), but please be kind, as my experiences of the Internet, between being trolled on Facebook and abused on dating sites have not been happy ones.

I had to cancel my subscription to a disabled dating site. I got little response, and the response came from people on the other side of the world. The site also bombarded me with spam emails.
