I’m not sure if I should have put this on new thread or add to tv one. It’s soooo old. Anyway. Just watching the new season of Queeer Eye and second season in is a gorgeous para. Some major touching spots where he confronts someone. He’s quite beautiful inside and out in my opinion. Love this show. Know a lot is probably so set up and contrived but my guilty pleasure. The 1st episode about a teacher made me cry.

I watched that episode last night, and I was quite literally scared for how they were going to deal with the topic of disability, given how the show veers towards "inspirational" stuff sometimes. It was done really well, though - and you're right, super attractive man.

A group of gay men who help a straight man with fashion and confidence and such. It's been so long since I have watched so this is my recollection.

I thought was an old British show from the 90's. I can't believe it's still going on. New show with new bunch of guys. Same premise. They are a hoot.

OOH. I haven't watched the new season yet, and now I'm excited.
I LOVE this show. Like happy cry every episode. I think honestly its one of the least contrived reality shows out there. I Googled how the people do after they leave and how much of it is staged. No, they don't live in the loft. The dog in season three belonged to someone that lived down the hall in that complex, but for the most part a lot of it is pretty genuine which makes me feel even better about watching.

I thought it was a good episode! It seemed like they dealt with everything very well and by the end, when they referred to him 1x as "inspirational," it was clear that he had earned that through his actions and merits and not just by existing in a disabled body.

I was randomly googling something related to this episode and came across an angry Twitter thread (lol) by a few disability activists about how horrible the representation in this episode purportedly was (which I definitely disagree with). I didn't delve into the discussion too deep, but the activists in question seemed to have the biggest issue with the name of this guy's charity (and also the name of the episode), "Disabled But Not Really". What do you guys think about that?
Personally, I interpreted the name as just highlighting the fact that disabled people are still capable at a lot of things despite many people's preconceived notions. But I guess I can also understand alternative interpretations.
