Well it just so happens I write poetry, short stories, and even raps (I can't rap I just enjoy rhyme schemes so it's just for me). Some are light hearted some are serious some are even morbid. I wouldn't say I'm a poet though I just enjoy writing things.

Right, I promised you all some and what follows is a statement of the truth of his reality (the First World War) as he saw it. To me this piece proves two things. One, that a god in the ethereal sense cannot exist because if such an entity did it all for arguments sake he would not allow such terrible atrocities as trench warfare and two, that the vessels of the light are sometimes born to us despite the never-ending stream of normative people, and sometimes examples of iniquity.
I personally believe (and remember this is only my opinion. I am not trying to be sententious!) That the late Siegfried Sassoon was indeed one of these people, and it is through people like him that I believe the reality which theists refer to as the kingdom of God can indeed be glimpsed. I'd be interested to know your opinions on this piece. See below:
'I am making this statement as an act of wilful defiance of military authority, because I believe the war is being deliberately prolonged by those who have the power to end it.
I am a soldier, convinced that I am acting on behalf of soldiers. I believe that this war, upon which I entered as a war of defence and liberation has now become a war of aggression and conquest. I believe that the purposes for which I and my fellow soldiers entered upon this war should have been so clearly stated as to have made it impossible to change them, and that, had this been done, the objects witch actuated us would now be attainable by negotiation.
I have seen and endured the suffering of the troops, and I can no longer be a party to prolong these sufferings for ends which I believe to be evil and unjust. I am not protesting against the conduct of the war, but against the political errors and insincerity's for which the fighting men are being sacrificed.
On behalf of those who are suffering now I make this protest against the deception which is being practised on them; also I believe that I may help to destroy the callous complacence with which the majority of those at home regard the continuance of agonies which they do not share, and which they have not sufficient imagination to realise.'
Siegfried Sassoon

I am in love with poetry and I have been writing for a while now. I can't say I am a good writer at all but I do enjoy how much it helps me de-stress and pour all my anxiety and feeling into a bunch of words lol.
