Hello expresso, nice to have you here. You’re right, it’s not a dating site. But there are a few people here from NYC. Still, we’re spread all over the globe. Feel free to tell a bit more about yourself so we all can get to know each other. Welcome from Germany

not much to tell about me - i hate the cold so dont go out at all in the winter unless i have appt. for doc. or dentist etc, - i try to keep busy - i been building my own batteries for my chairs - started about 5 years ago when i got feed up with the range of these chairs - so i went to lithium and never looked back - all my outdoor chairs are now lithium - tesla powered. i been into audio for my whole life - have a thing for Klipsch speakers - i hardly watch TV - mostly netflix when i do - and Space Doc. or history etc, at night when in bed is when i mostly watch them. if your in NYC - you may see me flying by in the bike lanes

Welcome to PD! Do you want to tell us a bit more about your disability? It's always interesting to us. Have you known about devs before? I am a little confused that you are glad this is not a "sore" of a dating site but then ask specifically for females who are interested. I would recommend checking out the site and reading a little so you can get a feel for this site. This is a place for straight and gay devs to feel safe and respected with their devness and for disabled guys who are interested and want to get to know us and learn about what makes a dev. It's also a place for friendly interactions and connections. We are a colorful bunch here from all over the place and with all kinds of interests.

hi thanks - i am not sure what i said before sometimes i type what i am thinking but it dosnt come across as i intend. i havnt known about devs before - i have heard once a while a back about it but didnt really think it was a real thing - i mean who goes to buy a broken car when theres a lot full of brand new ones ? i know sounds bad and i am one of those broken cars - i have alot to learn then - i did a search and found this site - i figure let me join and see what its about - i did think it was some sort of devs looking for disabled guys - i guess sort of dating site - but i now know its not - which is fine - i was looking for a dev in NYC that i can connect with - as friends etc, i read the posts here and there - may not always chime in -
i have LGMD - Muscular Dystrophy - i wasnt always in a chair and worked many years walked etc, i started in a chair about 15 years ago - i could have used one before then but i was using a cane and not walking far etc, - i drove so i managed without - after my divorce i moved to the City and started using a chair - i do fairly well cant complain - i have the help i need - my own place - i managed to have a few good outdoor chairs i can use that i am comfortable with - summer time - i just like to ride - i take very long rides - mostly alone but its good for the mind sometimes - kills the day - i used to video them - with my camera mounted on my chair -
lately i feel i like to meet someone - someone who is OK with the disability part - thats the hardest for me i feel - not really looking for Love etc, if that comes along - and it works - fine - but i am not stressing that - just someone that you can connect with - female company - and thats how i figured let me see what this devs thing is all about for real -

Thanks for the explanation, we have a bunch of MD guys here. Well, it's not that easy to explain devs, we are all very different with various interests. It's not really a "sort of dev thing" but it's a lot more complicated but a good way for you to learn and get to know the awesome people on this board is to be here, mingle, participate, let us get to know you and who knows, you may stir the interest of a dev in your area. Good luck! And to use your metaphor of the broken car, that's the car on the lot that has the most history and the car that has been around and seen things but before I would buy it I would definitely ask the sales person a lot of questions about the car...

Hi - no i dont work - i have worked many years and now its just about taking care of myself - to be honest i dont do that much here as you would think living in the city - i was really never a NYC person before i when i drove and not in a chair - just too busy and crowded and traffic - i am not to crazy about crowds - i do better in small groups -
but have to say now that i am in a chair - the city is great for chair users - i mean i can do alot if i choose to - and just riding around the water sides - both west and east sides - going over all the bridges etc, at least i am not stuck out in the woods - i mean do like the outdoors also but if i lived in the Woods - and not see anyone or no stores close by etc, - it would get to me for sure -
so i ride to the woods now instead - to get away from the city - little peace and quiet - over the GWB -into NJ - it takes up the day for sure - not a short ride and cant do it with lead batteries -

That’s awesome that you’re doing those distances with just your chair! I recently did a trip like that from East 93rd to West 42nd and it took me a solid 3 hours, but it was a lot of fun and just a nice way to end the day. Welcome to PD.

Ok if i tell you what can be done with lithium - hard to believe - i was able to do 68 miles on the last trip i took before it started to get colder here - i was trying to run it down to see what i can get out of it - this is with a 180ah lithium pack - Chair came with 100ah lithium but it wasnt enough for me so i added my own 80ah to the chair. i still had about 20ah left - so 70 miles for sure - maybe 75 at most - it all depends on conditions also - but its for sure more than enough to take you the whole day and not worry about green lights on your joystick Attachments:

Lead is Dead - dosnt do nothing good for us - if you want to be free to ride without worry - go lithium - now with that said - no one makes a chair with lithium other than Bounder Chairs - i just got one - and its a tank - for real - its not for everyone - i wasnt sure myself - but glad i got it - its FAST which what i need to travel far in shorter times - i got 100ah in the chair lithium - but wasnt enough for the chair - its heavy and the speed - the batteries take a hit - i solved that with my own added to it - now other than bounder - i have a 646se quickie - which i converted to lithium myself - that was my first time doing it - this was 5 years ago and still going as new - i put 105ah in the chair and added an extra 45ah ADD ON to that - at the time - the cells i used were different than now - times are moving along and they are getting better - cheaper and all sizes - so now in place of that 105ah i have in the quickie - i can now fit 200ah all inside the chair - i have one i am building now its 200ah pack for my next chair - you do it once - do it right and forget about it - your good for 10 years if taken care of them - and i am sure you will since your invested in it - but you do have to build it yourself -and charge a bit different but much more accurate better - faster and with PC software to monitor everything - i cant image being without lithium now - its that good - maybe just a dev maybe better now i can even lend the dev one of my chairs and we can ride together - one of these days -

Sounds like with your technical talents you could totally help out your bros in power chairs.
