Hey there everyone, here's a brief introduction about myself: I'm a 24 year old girl from Germany (there's really a lot of us on here, huh) who has been lurking here for a couple of weeks. I finally got up the courage to sign up and I'm really jittery and nervous about it. After checking the forum out for a while I'm starting to come to terms with my devness a little more. It's really nice knowing that I'm not alone and everybody seems to be really nice so far. Jesus, I'm shaking so much while typing this, anyway, thanks for your attention and have a nice day!

Welcome bananaleaf! I’m glad you decided to sign up. I remember how nervous I was and in fact I didn’t do an introduction for a little bit even after signing up. I hope you stick around and participate. PD has been a lifesaver for me with these feelings I have had for over 40 years. Enjoy your time exploring PD and getting to know your dev self 😊.

Hi bananaleaf welcome to PD! I'm happy you signed up. Yes, it is very nerve wrecking and I also remember being super nervous when I first signed on, I think I lurked for a few weeks as well. It was so strange because I felt that I was doing something wrong and that maybe it was a mistake that I should be here...constantly asked myself if this is my world? It wasn't a mistake, but it was also one of the biggest deals ever for me to be here and has opened to me prior unknown worlds and to myself. I am not the same person I was when I first signed on. PD means a whole lot to me. Hope you stick around and let us get to know you and you can get to know us. You may write to me privately in German if you want. Welcome again!

Welcome I'm so glad you decided to take the step. I only recently joined the board myself as a disabled blind male, cool to see fellow newbies :-) But ...you've been lurking so ...you probably already know all that and also that we're neighbors geographically ...right ...ok, shutting up

Hello Welcome, and well done! I mean I think life it's too short to put down meaningless limits everywhere. I can understand your state of mind, but I really hope you will come very soon to terms with being a devotee. I mean, I'm on the other side, living with an accident-related spinal cord injury, so I can't understand it thoroughly maybe...but ok let me just say that I think there's nothing wrong with being a devotee, it's a matter of taste nothing to feel guilty about. Many people with disability will just be very happy you are made like that. Very welcome once again also from me. Oh sorry, I'm Giovanni 30, originally from Venice (Italy) but moving to Luxembourg in a couple of weeks. Have a great evening

Welcome bananaleaf! I was extremeley nervous when I signed up too, so I'm cheering for you that you found the courage!! (I actually lurked on-off for a couple of years, so you're much braver than I was ) It's a lovely community, I'm sure you'll enjoy it! I'm also a geographical neighbour btw and I speak German, if you ever want to chat

I've been wondering for a while now why is it that most devs seem to be from European areas mainly Germany? Maybe it's just a coincidence.
Welcome though.

I don't think there are more German devs than from any other country. It just happens that a bunch are around at this time. There have been times where I feel like I'm the only German here...it depends on participation at any given time. I also don't think the German devs are more likely to be para devs, again commplete coincidence.
