It wouldn't be necessary to visit the fair used as an excuse - that's also why I wasn't so into the rehacare fair. Would even be creepy if someone did it for their grandparents or parents :s I think that's pretty much out by now. the thing is I couldn't stay away over night because I'm in youth welfare - they would want to know the internet friend I was visiting. My best friend is in on my devness and we often do sleepovers at her place but I don't know whether her parents would be willing to lie about me being there when they don't know what I'm actually doing. Even more so when they do. I also would appreciate private time where we're not so easily and guaranteedly overheard and if we do the mixed meet up on Sunday I could just escape the feeling awkward by leaving Saturday evening or Sunday morning. Props to you Amee, awesome planning so far :DD

Ok, if you guys don’t mind me changing my mind maybe a little bit, take me in into the planning and then we’ll see where it goes. I’m flexible time wise and in general able to travel to any city and no excuses needed for me.

I'm on the east coast of the US so the flight to Germany is actually not so bad for me, and I very much enjoy traveling. I would absolutely LOVE to join in on a European dev-con! As long as you all don't mind having an American who doesn't speak German in the mix 😂😂 I'm also pretty flexible next year and don't need an excuse lol
ETA: oh yeah, I'll likely be helping my friend move to New Zealand in like... August or Sept I think? So that'll be a big trip. I'll confirm with her though

I am also socially awkward but this is not just a random group of people but people who share something personal in common. My online persona is a lot more confident and outspoken, real life totally different story.

I’m getting really excited about this idea! I’m also wondering if maybe I should be more open about wanting to meat devs irl here in the UK. I know there’s a bunch but I can never bring myself to actually ask them...

You could also stay at my place if you need it somehow before or after the meet-up.

I would love to be part of this! From Switzerland it should be possible. 1. Weekends would definitely be best. End of August or October wouldn't be possible for me. For the rest of the year I hope I will make it work! 2. Southern Germany would be great, but other areas are possible as well. 3. No need of excuses. 4. Some Dev-time would be great, but PWDs should be part of it as well. Thank you Amee for organizing!

Hey, Thanks so much for starting to organize the meet-up! I'll drop you a PM with further details but I don't need an excuse to meet up. My close friends know that I'm a dev and even know of PD. Also, I'm single and I travel by myself quite often. So it'll be nothing out of the ordinary when I'm travelling somewhere over the weekend. I'd prefer a mixed group - with devs only time. Ahhh, I'm getting really excited already!

Oh, I am definitely IN, you can count on me!
Great that someone finally decided to organize it and even better that in Europe! Any place works for me, any time works for me and I don't need any excuses, I am big girl! I would prefer it to be mixed pwd/dev, with dev time only!

Hi there, It doesn't feel like the majority wants to include us in the meet, for now, but if at any point, we would be welcomed, I am definitely willing to travel to Germany to attend
