If someone disappears from a message board / community, and then comes back, or deletes something they posted, can we try and be a bit more tolerant and not immediately dub them as "weird". We have no idea what else is going on in someone else's life and the internet can be another pressure or intimidating for some people, and poor mental health is rife online. I'm sure no one means harm, but I find PD can be quick to call people out and comes across as quite cold at times.

I would like to second coybrit on this. As far as I know, @swiftsilver89 has not left the board more than once. He found the board, was very clear and open about his feelings and his difficulties to accept his disability and the concept of devness (which is difficult for most people at first, including us devs ourselves), spoke his mind and decided to leave. He did this even thanking the people on the board and openly giving the reasons for his decisions. Most people just disappear, without a single word. Now he came back, again being decent, open and honest. The board is here for PWDs and devs at any stage of their journey, as far as my understanding goes. I can’t see any wrong behavior here.
I truly appreciate the effort of the more experienced members to protect the board from fakes or people with questionable intentions. The care that the older members show warms my heart. I would be one of the first people to be fooled because I would never suspect anyone to pretend to be someone they are not. I just don’t think swiftsilver89 has given any reason to be suspicious about him.

I think people are mainly weirded out that he deleted a mainly active and established thread.

Only that it was weird, as in strange, that his messages disappeared. I certainly did not mean to be intolerant and as anyone who had been on here for awhile knows, this is not my M.O.

Back to topic, this is a lovely thread and if any female devs happen to be passing through london and fancy a coffee or a local wheeler guide that would be super nice xxx

I was talking more generally about PD than just your reply, but thanks for the clarification.

Ladies and gentlemen hello,
I will try to be open and brief...I have some issues here I find it hard to put up with...number 1 is bullshit, "keeping quitting and deleting threads" means to me to do it several times, and as far as I remember it was 1 each...and always with very good reasons. The first because I got the feeling I was alone in the lions' pit urged to defend myself and my ideas against deaf people, this more recent thing, was just to rephrase my post...but unfortunately it seems like it took too long for someone. I came back because I think I can still learn something valuable from this community while I forcedly have to cope with my disability for a long period. However, if there is something I really dislike is wasting time to talk about meaningless stuff...and sorry, this is the case. The question is a very simple one...am I welcome among you? Nice, I really appreciate and I will try to contribute. Don't you like me for some reason? Well...use the power you have and ban me, for God's sake! I am not going to cry or fall into depression, no worries. What the hell...just please stop this bunch of useless talks please. Or, if you like it, no judgement from me of course, keep going but (in this thread, I am not spontaneously leaving) without me.
Note: I don't mean to be "aggressive" just pointing it all out quick.
Have a nice day folks

I don't get why you are having this passive aggressive meltdown, one of the devs was even willing to hook you up with someone. They were actually pretty nice and receptive now you're just writing all these bullshit monologues. Congratulations bro you managed to piss off a peaceful forum.

@swiftsilver...youve hardly been torn apart by the baying mob. The only thing likely to make people less welcoming is a self absorbed pity party. As everyone who joins pd is advised, involve yourself and lets get to know each other. Oh but you cant do that, as the threads are apparently meaningless small talk.

Hey @swiftsilver, do you think you just pissed some deaf people off? That was a pretty unaware statement you just made 😳. Oh...BTW, most devs on here like strong, resilient guys. You’re showing a really unattractive, non resilient side of yourself. I know you deleted yourself from PD but I’m sure you’re still reading.

He must have a long list to work through of devs who are interested, that's why he had to leave...
Honestly I can only shake my head and my gut feeling about a person has once again been confirmed. Let me add one more "useless" comment to this board. I want to try to make it to 5000 useless comments, it's my goal and will be my life's work...I want to be remembered for something 😉
