Hi I’m new here! I’m a T4 male para that recently moved to Las Vegas from the Midwest. I’m 45 and looking to make some friends. Anyone coming here to visit in the future?

I'm a pwd with DMD in upstate NY, and I would most likely have to be driven road trip style to Las Vegas. Traveling by air in my case would probably be an utter disaster, given the likelihood of my electric wheelchair being damaged in storage. Anyhow, welcome to the board!

And I moved from Vegas to the Midwest! Living out there has its advantages to be sure but I definitely don't miss it in the summer

Ahhhh vagas, my favourite place in the world Welcome to PD! When I flew to Vegas my permobile barely survived. Plane trips are horrible and I don’t plan on flying again.

Don't let that be your reason for not flying! It's not impossible, and there's a better chance of success with proper planning. There are a lot of resources to help you figure out the steps you might need to take to protect yourself and your chair. That said, it's a stressful process. I fly only when absolutely necessary

LOVE VEGAS.. go out there often. I'm surprised there's not a dev conference or anything like that out there... literally everything (well with few exceptions) is welcomed in Vegas. Who wants to be responsible for organizing that... a dev conference.. give us all an excuse to get to know each other and have fun partying in Vegas?

Who wants to be responsible for organizing that... a dev conference.. give us all an excuse to get to know each other and have fun partying in Vegas? This is an excellent idea! If said conference could also possibly be hosted virtually through Zoom, for those who would like to attend but aren't able to due to certain circumstances, I'd be there in a heartbeat! Maybe it could be a combination of in-person and virtual to level the playing field, so to speak? Btw, these are just suggestions; nothing is set in stone.

Another advantage of Vegas is affordable airfare from almost anywhere ✈️

The consumer electronics show is early next year. Those interested in the system technology I think would be fun!

That sucks! I knew there was a lot of people there but not that many! I'm a panelist for 2023 if anyone's interested I might be able to get a couple extra tickets. Just shoot me a DM😊

It's huge, takes over 3 different convention centers. When I lived there I went once with a friend on the last day, we managed to sneak in when people discarded their name tags as they left (which you use to show your entry)...so we got to see one part of it for a couple hours. Definitely alot going on and certainly no shortage of displays that will grab your attention. How awesome that you'll get to participate!
