Except… um, ice skating??? My husband was cracking up where he says he uses different leg muscles to ice skate.

My husband and I watching my movie together:
Me: “His name starts with G so it doesn’t make sense they’d accidentally call him Mr. Scrooge.”
My husband: “Well, everyone in the building knows him as a Scrooge, so the point is that they would slip up and accidentally call him that.”
Me: “OMG, are you Mansplaining my own movie to me???”

Just watched it and I have to say te previews did not do it justice! I thought it was going to be a too cheesy and superficial, but it was actually so cute, even though I knew the story I really enjoyed it and got invested, and I think they did a really good job adapting it to make the story clear (since obviously in the movie you can't include their thoughts like you do in the book), and how they incorporated the change of career for Jeremy.
I agree with the ice skating being a bit odd (I mean you probably use slightly different muscles but I don't think that's the issue? But I feel like most people would buy it haha), and also in the final scene, I don't want to spoil it but I think they ruined it a bit with his hand, not sure what the intention was...
overall it was great and quite devvy and I really hope we get more films like this, congratulations once again!

Yes, it was so much better than I thought it would be from te previews! And they stayed really true to the book with a few changes. I even recognized my own dialogue. “You’re thinking this guy better leave one hell of a tip after I literally rescued him from his own coat.” Oh, and the guy was really hot!!! I didn’t even notice which hand it was in the last scene until my husband pointed it out. I choose to believe it was some kind of goof and not a miracle cure, but knowing Hallmark, it definitely could have been a miracle cure.

The ice skating scene was kinda odd indeed 🤣 I liked the end scene where they are holding hands, it reminded me of how much I love putting my hand on my partners leg, also paralyzed like Jeremys hand. From my point of view the intention or statement of that scene was just that she loves him with his disability, and they can hold hands even though his left arm is paralyzed. 🤷🏼♀️

I just watched it! Omg it was soooo faithful to the book! I can’t believe how much they kept! Anyone else see it? So, did you have any input into the movie? Were you consulted? How did it all work, do they just pay you a lump sum of royalties to use your story, in exchange for them doing what they want with it or making changes wherever they wish?

I signed the contract, got a lump payment, and that was literally the last time I heard from them!

This is so wild. I’m a fan of cheeseball Christmas Hallmark movies and came across this one randomly the other day. I was shocked to find that it had so many dev elements and immediately thought that it reminded me of one of your books! Little did I know it was a straight up adaptation.
I agree about the last scene and the ice-skating though, but hey, I’ll take what we can get! I hope it does amazingly so that they adapt more of your books. I would be so pumped for a good ole’ cheesy Christmas movie with a hot quad or para lead. Dean & Callie’s story should get movie treatment next.

So Hallmark is continuing its diversity rep with super hunky very slightly disabled guys...no idea if this is devvy or not. Probably no? There's no way it will be as good as Annabelle's movie.

Interesting... I like that they are centering the plot around something slightly deeper than who can grow the biggest pumpkin or sell the most ginger ale and that it's a bit sciency. But definitely doesn't feel devvy.
