The rain is difficult as I can't just change clothes if I get wet and sitting in wet jeans is bad for the skin. I do have a rain cover for my legs but I only go out if I need to for work or something. If it's raining hard, I'll put a plastic bag over my chair controls. How do you think you'll react to the cold? Have you ever experienced those cold temperatures before?

Welcome welcome, @wowserhuh! Your English is indeed far better than many Americans'. Which RPGs are you currently enjoying? Oi, thank you! I'm replaying mass effect and dragon age, and also a spend some time in the star wsrs:the old republic. My laptop is pretty ancient, so it is what it is, but the stories are good indeed.

It's kinda cheesy graphically now, but the story is still adorable. Windows xp was fun back then lol

Hey and welcome to PD. Don't worry, your English is good! Can you tell us more about your science articles you wrote on accessibility? Sounds interesting and pretty important. Hello and thank you!😊 I studied tourism in university, and my main science topic was about making tourism destinations accessible, starting from museums and bars and to my diploma about the rock festivals in prairies. I also worked with the local disability awareness companies to know what's better to highlight in these articles. Happy to say, the second year after my diploma I went to the festival myself to inspect, and it was accessible, just same to my diploma plan. It was a fascination, really, because I usually cringed seeing the weird angles of the ramps etc around. It was good to see something looked well and right.

Nice, yeah it is a bummer as a wheelchair user when you go somewhere and it's not fully accessible or not accessible at all. Honestly, I think it must be illegal to run the place that's not fully accessible for everyone who want to pass by. Here where I live now, it's easy to notice the up to weird neglecting in the basic things, and I guess it's a thing I'd like to work with when I'm steady enough on my own in this new life far from home.

It is illegal but luckily where I live in the US on the west coast it's rear to find a places like restaurants, shops, etc. that are not accessible to enter but once you enter there maybe space constraints when trying to move through the aisles or not enough room to fully turn around at least in my experience. Maybe it's different for those who use manual wheelchairs that are smaller in size compared to a power wheelchair. Maybe this doesn't really count as not being accessible as long as you are able move around but it is annoying.
What are some of the basic things you noticed go neglected in places that make them not so accessible?
Honestly, It's cool helping to improve accessibility in the world is something you have a passion for!
It's good to know it's at least relatively good enough somewhere in the world! The most basic thing neglected was probably the door width. Like, everything inside the cafe is fairly accessible, space is good, restroom is modernized and good as well, but the front and only door is less or around 2 feet wide so it doesn't make any difference because it's not possible to move inside. It was kind of face-palm moment for me when I noticed. Also, hella heavy doors with the handles level around my chest (and I'm tall, really). I'm just curious who's the weirdo guy who thought it's a good idea to make the doors that can squeeze you when you try to push or pull it, and the handle is so far up. Aw, thank you ☺️

Ha yeah, sometimes it's the complete opposite like you mentioned here where the entrance is a space constraint instead of the inside of the place. Does it happen a lot as well? Also, I'm not sure why, but they make so narrow stairs here, everywhere, even if doubled with the lift or a long ramp. It puzzles, especially if the original building could be flat on ground, and then was anyway constructed with stairs for some ill logic.
