what food(s) do you hate most?
even the smell of candy corn almost makes me throw up. I hate strawberries, squash, beets, plain milk, maple anything, sweet potatoes, and probably more but drawing a blank.

I like most foods. I think the few that I dislike are mostly specific cheeses like Swiss/Gruyère/Ementaler, Romano, goat/sheep cheeses. I don't particularly care for Lima beans unless they're in something where they don't stand out, I don't like the taste of lamb, I dislike any and all artificially banana flavored candies like Runts, Laffy Taffy, etc, and I loathe black licorice. Other than that, I'm pretty copacetic.

At the moment, my food habits are changing due to the diabetes. I didn’t realise it would be so difficult, I’ve been having toast with my honey for breakfast for about five years. The moment I stopped! I got a cold, and I felt like shit! Happy days. Today I had a handful of almonds, walnuts and raspberries which wasn’t too bad. I suppose I will answer this question in about five years time, when I have found something I enjoy.

I echo the vote for smelly cheeses. I'm also on the no cilantro train.
Can we also talk about whether it's possible to make fried food into superfoods that are bursting with antioxidants and gut-friendly fiber?

The cilantro thing is genetic, it really does taste like soap to some people and not others. Pretty fascinating!
As for my hated foods, they are: wasabi/most horseradish, olives, capers, eggplant, pickles, blue cheese, tomato juice or sun dried tomatoes (tomatoes are okay in other contexts). I will accept a “no thank you helping” of anything, which I am quite proud of as a reformed picky eater. They used to call me the Airplant when I was little bc I ate so few foods 🤦♀️ basically only plain/sweet homogenous white food like vanilla yogurt/pudding, milk, white bread, egg whites with salt, plain crackers, and the one exception— peanut butter. I didn’t even eat chocolate!!

Oh and as proof of my reformed ways, another disgusting food I’ve tried and hated: durian!!! Has anyone else sampled it? The taste is not good, but I can understand how some people could like it (sort of like a weird banana flavor and texture). However, the SMELL??!? Horrid. The worst part is that the smell is so strong that even after you swallow your bite, the revolting stench creeps back up your throat and into your nose where you can’t escape it!

I absolutely hate maraschino cherries or anything artificial cherry flavored. But real cherries are fine (I didn't even know what they tasted like until my 20s because I avoided them thinking they would taste like maraschino cherries).

For me, it's certain cheeses and extremely sweet foods that I can't stand. Consistency of the food is another factor I have to consider when I have to eat, as too much chewing tires my jaw muscles out; for instance, I like raspberries instead of strawberries.

Hmmm. I like most foods, and if it's unfamiliar, I'll try anything once 😋 That being said, I hate ampalaya, (or bitter melon in English, I think,) strong tasting cheeses such as blue cheese, and peanut butter (though I don't mind stews and sauces that use it as an ingredient.) Some things taste okay, but are gross on a textural level. Chicken feet comes to mind. Anything that involves cartilage and bone, really 😅

I think every person changes what they like, food wise, or don't as we age.

I don't know about delicacy, LOL. I can't stand it and tons of places serve it as a tradition. But it is Scandinavian fish that is finished dried/salted, cured in lye. It has a texture kind of like Jell-O. When they are preparing it, you can smell it from a good distance. It smells horrid and the taste is not much better. if you want to learn more; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lutefisk
