Just a recommendation...this guy is irish and he's damn funny. He was in Notting Hill and he's just great. Enjoy!!
this is just a very small sample of his stand-up. but I personally think he's a genius!

Dylan Moran will get your stomach and cheeks hurting from just laughing at his stories and situations. If you guys can get hold of Black Books, dylan's in there as one of the main characters - a bookshop owner who's perennially drunk and basically never knows his left from his right...you just gotta watch him to appreciate

i'm partial to billy connolly's older stuff. and eddie izzard..
speaking of stand up comedy, i had an idea a while back; how come you never see stand up duos? i mean two guys onstage at the same time hitting the audience w/material? not like skit comedy like david cross and bob whats his name, nor 2 musician-comedians like tenacious d, but more like a tag team thing where they alternate-one doing the talking while the other supports him in subtle ways or roams the stage helping his partner, then the 2 of them switching to keep it fresh. or a double barreled barrage of bits like a rap duo, hitting the audience hard so they have barely recovered from one joke before theyre laughing at another...nonstop comedic energy.
would that work? i don't think it's been done.

Black Book is also awesome! Dylan Moran's character is just drunk all the time! Pretty sure he's drunk when he does his stand-up routines too

well...arent ALL irish people pretty much drunk all the time? Jim Beam, Johnnie Walker, Jose Cuervo, and Captain Morgan can't hold a candle to me... ...there was the 'Blue Collar' team that had a four guys I believe...not a 'duo' but more than one person...

right wind, but the blue collar team are all basically solo performers, right? what i've got in mind is different, i think. but i don't know comedy that well...

i love a scottish accent; it's almost incomprehensible! and it gets into my head somehow, especially if i've read too much robert burns or seen a movie like 'trainspotting'. i start WANTING to talk like that myself.
'nae mither, ae canna gae wi' ye, for ae'm sair knackered ae am!'
plus, there's a lot of scottish influence in this part of florida...near dunedin, after all.

I've lived in Scotland for 3yrs and I still find the accent difficult at times!
Ed Byrne is kinda cute, but so is Dylan!

when I went to Glasgow, I had to ask everyone I spoke to, to repeat what they've just said LOL ... I've never felt so idiotic in my entire life And not to sound racist, but one of the funniest things I've ever encountered was on a bus trip from Edinburgh to another place near Glasgow - an Indian guy complete with his turban speaking in the most Scottish accent one will have ever heard LOL ... this feels like deja vu...have I told this story before?
