I recently joined this board after lurking around for quite a while. It seemed fitting that I post here, although I must admit I am not really sure what to write on here. I have never really been good at such things. I guess that's why I was just a lurker for so long. guess I will start with the basics, 25 from NY. I am a PT, although I do not work with SCI patients, I think that would be pure torture for me. I work in out patient dealing with basic strains, sprains, and broken bones. I found this site many years ago before I could ever put a name on my odd attraction back when I thought I was the only one who felt such a way. I don't know what I am looking for, I just felt it was about time to stop being silent. Well, I guess that is enough rambling for now.

Welcome Annie. Please don't be shy, and jump right in! Interesting that you're a PT. I've often thought that I missed my calling. I know an OT who is both a devotee and has BIID and she works with SCI patients. She finds it a very rich and rewarding job and being able to help other people gives her a lot of comfort and satisfaction.

Claire, that is a good point about your friend. That sector would be very rewarding, as I have heard from many people. However, I have a tremendous guilt complex, and I think it would be too much for me personally. Besides that I love outpatient. I basically get to be a social butterfly while helping people, it does not get much better than that haha. Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Welcome to the board, Annie! I've had a number of PT's and OT's over the years and they did wonders for me! Never had one I didn't like.

Ha ha funny you should mention how much you like PT's when the biggest joke I hear is that PT stands for pain and torture or physical torture or physical terrorist and the list goes on and on. Thanks for all the welcomes though.

I suppose a more optimistic outlook could be 'Pleasure and Torture'...but yeah...I s'pose I have an alternative viewpoint on things sometimes...

OT is "occasional torture."
