I don't know how many people have been reading the story I've been writing for the paradevo site, but I've been trying to wind it down the last few days. With that in mind, I'm trying to come up with an idea for a new story, but I'm drawing a blank! I need a little help. So please, tell me ideas you have for a dev story you'd like to read. I can't promise I'll write any of them, but I am hoping it will inspire me.

Yes, yes, I did... thank you. But you were the only one.
I guess people who don't write don't get how frustrating it is to find inspiration sometimes.....

I feel for you Amy...I am working on some of my own stories, my problem is not inspiration but finding time to write it all down. But I want to take up your challenge to come up with more ideas. Hm, I really like historical settings, how about a polio story set in the 1930s? For a modern-day SCI story, I'd like to see more that are many years post-injury. It's not about adjusting, but about the relationship itself. Or a high-powered lawyer or something, on the surface very confident and aggressive, but afraid to let his guard down and appear weak, until the right woman comes along who can get beneath the surface. Although I really don't know how much other people's ideas will help you. Inspiration for a story has to come from inside--it should be your fantasy, not mine. Rather than ideas for plots from us, you might look for inspirations by looking at photos or AB erotica and thinking "what if?" Just a thought. You can't force it--the inspiration will come on its own when it's ready.

Thanks, Devogirl! I know you like historical setting based on your book reviews, which I loved by the way, so thank you for that! I also loved your Dark Angel fanfic.. that was soooo hot and I must have reread it like a zillion times. I don't think I could write someone else's story idea, but sometimes hearing a bunch of ideas inspires me somehow. Definitely reading other people's dev fiction inspires me but nobody but me has written any recently and I've already read all the stories on the site about five times. I really like the idea about the lawyer though. I'd love to write about a lawyer because I think they're really sexy, but I've been chatting with a wheeler lawyer who occasionally frequents the board and I worry he'd totally rip it apart for being inaccurate...

You're welcome Amy! I'm happy to talk about the writing process. And gosh, I'm so glad to hear you liked the Dark Angel story. I did that so long ago I'd practically forgotten about it. I used to have a very condescending attitude towards fan fiction, but now I think it's fun, and not a bad way to set up some steamy erotica with relatively little effort. When I get caught up in a book or TV show it becomes almost compulsive for me to write something, no matter how silly. As for the lawyer story, I think there is probably more than one lawyer on the board here who might be willing to give you pointers. However, a good way to avoid the problem of accuracy is just to focus on his private life away from work. Maybe he meets a woman while working out at the gym?

Gosh, I think I'm less familiar with that than I am with law, LOL. But seriously, I do like the idea! Maybe I'll give it a go. I think fanfic is great, especially dev fanfic, although I personally don't write it. I loooved Dark Angel when it was on, I think it was during my first year of college. Then they ruined it by having him walk again, ugh. That Logan was such a hottie, wonder what happened to him?

The actor, Michael Weatherly, is in "Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service", he is "Anthony Dinozzo" in the show. Nothing like Logan Cale, even the personality is completely different. But, I like the show. It's been in the air for 6 season already.

I have a "thing" for lawyers too, so I´ll encourage you to write that story Amy, and I´ll be looking forward to reading it

hmmm.... you've given us lots to think about, amy. i would definitely enjoy a story that involved travel and characters exploring new places together. i tend to lean towards artistic, earthy, philosophical types of guys, myself.
