I've been browsing the stories on here and on the website and it occurs to me that there's a vast difference between different stories. Some are really detailed descriptions of sexual activity. Others are heavy on story with very little sex.
I've been trying to turn some diary entries I wrote a while back into a story. But I don't know how much time to linger on the sex scenes. As a woman, I feel like sex needs a story behind it, or else it's not nearly as good. That's why women read romance novels and men look at porn. So I've been trying to build a good story and not get totally bogged down describing tongues on clitorises.
So I guess my question is, am I making a mistake? Do you guys just skip straight to the sex parts?

I think you'll get different ideas from different people.
I think you should write it for yourself and let the chips fall where they may.

You have to feel bold enough to write what YOU like. This is the important thing. Let it flow out smoothly. Most of the writing on here is done for the devs by the devs. Once in awhile we get a male perspective, which is a great treat.

Yeah, I think what I'm going to be writing is strictly for devs. A little too mushy romantic for a guy to read.

Once in awhile we get a male perspective, which is a great treat. Except when I write, lol. First rule of writing, is to write for yourself. If you're writing something, and you hate it, then you won't want to finish it, and you'll just get burnt out...and it's not like you're writing for cash, or anything here. Write what comes natural, and people will like it or they won't. I think some people are just grateful to have something to read, and don't really care what format, or how much is devoted to particular plot points, etc.

I think the advice of writing for yourself is spot-on!! Most of what I read on here doesn't get sexually graphic, which is totally cool...doesn't have to be! I mean I read that short thing Bananas wrote about the morning, and I loved it. However, that thing I just wrote didn't avoid the actual details. But I definitely included my idea of romance...the humor and romance that fits perfectly into sex with me! I really wanted to mix all three together. I say write what you feel...some will dig it, some might not!
