OK, so Yahoo doesn't work with too many people and the PD chat is not ideal for real discussions either. We therefore decided to have the chat on SKYPE. It's very easy to download and install, it's safe and works very very well for voice chat. A few of us tried it out tonight and the quality is great! It's possible to have conferences with up to 24 people! So everyone who would like to join us tomorrow at 8pm EST on voice chat, send a PM to me (or Emma, or Valkyria or Dolly) with your Skype name and we'll add you and then invite you to the conference. Hope to hear you all tomorrow .

YEAY YEAY YEAY I was just going to suggest that. Thank you!
Yes, and for those who were not on the chat tonight, we spent about an hour trying to get yahoo to work, so the discussion didn't get very far, and we all wanted to chat again at the same time.
As always, if any of you in different time zones want a book-club chat at a different time, just suggest a time, there can always be a third chat.

Is that gonna be a girls only chat? Yes devine, it's gonna be a Devo Book Club chat (but I'm sure there will be lots of other topics too). Girls only. That's why it's announced in the Devs Only section.

I agree! Skype is way better than Yahoo. Let me know if you schedule another one.
Oh and I still like the book club idea. If there's a book you all want us to read together, speak up!

Well you all know I am a HUGE Daredevil fan, so that would be cool with me. But I also know a lot of you are like, "blind guy, eh, whatever." It depends on how many would be interested. There's this novel called Hell on Wheels by Daniel Evan Weiss that I bought years ago and never got around to reading. It's about a DAK amputee. amzn.com/1852424397Has anyone else read it? Does it look interesting? And I want to say again, I really enjoyed chatting on skype. Sorry I missed some of you. If you all want to schedule another girls-only chat, let me know.

Lol, I was sitting here thinking, I've not read anything that would be appropriate but Dolly's post reminded me. I read Waking by Matthew Sanford. He's a yoga instructor. High t's.
That one might work.

The problem with many of these books is that they are not that easy to get. I for one don't want to order a book that's only available in the States, the shipping is just way too expensive for a book I'm not even sure I will like. So I would only take books that are available as e-books. But that's just me..
We talked about it in chat yesterday and it seems that money definitely is an issue for some of us. We were wondering if fanfics could be a possibility too, as they are free, everyone can read them anytime, and they're usually not too long. Someone could recommend one she particularly likes or that she thought was well written and then we'd all read and discuss it, just like a book.
Discussing films is a great idea! As there a re not too many devo films out there anyway, I think we all wouldn't care if it was a film we've already seen (maybe more than one time). I think it could be fun and interesting to discuss how we feel about them in detail!

Hmm.... I read Moving Violations a long time ago and really enjoyed it. Hockenberry's a great writer, very funny, if a little self-serving. Waking is also a good suggestion, thank you Clover! I've been meaning to read that for a long time.
However, Cake also has a really good point. Films are fine with me, although please not Quid Pro Quo. I've had enough devo self-flagellation for a little while. I'd be happy to rewatch an old favorite and discuss it.
But I also really like the idea of reading fanfic together. It's free and instantly available to everyone, and there is often more dev content than in professionally published novels. I admit I don't read that much of it though, so I don't have any to suggest. Does anyone else?
