I meant my comment to be kind of tongue-in-cheek. It's just if new guys post "Hi, I'm a wheeler and want to chat with devs", they get raked over the coals for being too presumptuous. You did nothing wrong, there's just a double standard as to what's expected. Not a big deal.
Anyway, If you post it - they will come.
