adjusted to my condition? Sure, but WELL? Eeehhhh, I struggle with not being able to work, not having an accessible vehicle, using AACs to communicate as my first 23yrs I could just speak. I'm constantly frustrated by having to coach people through things I have extensive experience with doing myself Or having to talk through something that is better learned through example. The helplessness of being unable to move is very much my biggest annoyance. my hobbies all require vigorous movement and/or fine motor skills so that's another source of disappointment and frustration, etc. I'm like stuck in the middle of a transition because I can't let go for whatever reason. Guess I'm subconsciously holding out for motor neuron transplants or fiber optic prosthetics 😅😂

I was injured 24 years ago and think I am "I'm now well adjusted". I'm a C6 C7 complete. I fell 85 feet in 1999 and lucky to be alive. My hands work pretty well for being a quadriplegic. My left hand is 90% and right hand is 75% strength.
Housing: Over the years I had build 3 accessable bathrooms in 3 different house. My current is a wetroom with a sprayer hose, haldheld and two drains. My last house's backyard had pavers on one half that flowed seamlessly into a large wood deck. My new house had 12inch pavers with weeds in between. I had concrete patio poured that connects the back side's 3 sliding glass doors. This house and the last house i raised the carport with concrete to be flush with the house. I had to modify the last three houses roll in closets to work for me. Kitchens in my house are untouched and most 28 or 30inch doors are ok for my manual wheelchair. Hand controls on the left side. If you have any possibility to drive, do it.
Autos: I like SUVs with a seat height 20 inches to 24 inches above the ground. Fords, Toyotas and Hondas seat is closer to the door edge. Chevrolet has a huge door gap and hard to transfer.
Wheelchairs: I've had one Quicky and five TiSport wheelchairs and take my chair apart and put it in the front seat or back seat. I like bigger wheels, now 26inch but eyeing 27inch. I have a handcycle, knobby tired for mud, sand and outdoors. I had a standing frame, I wish I used it more than my wife's cats. I have the Magic X8 4x4 offroad wheelchair. Job: I sold the telecom company with 15 employees in 1999 for stock options. After rehab I started working for that voip company. I was working in one section another voip/calling card that had 4 sales men quit in 4 consecutive months. I asked to research for fraud and found it. $8 million those four guys stole. My stock options were worthless. I cofounded another telecom company in 2001 and grew it to an Inc500 company and in 2016. While at this job I set up offices in Jamaica, Costa Rica, S Africa and ttaveled to 40 countries: buying international 800 numbers and setting up call centers and working trade shows. Sold my share of 10% in 2016. I move to become a telecom buyer for a big wholeseller and was buying 1 billion minutes a month international and 5 billion minutes a month domestic. Now I'm selling AI for email in call centers as a consultant. I work from home.
Family: After i had my spiral cord accident in Czech Republic I married my Czech girlfriend in 2000. In 2005 we had a daughter the tradional way. She wanted one more we tried and tried. In 2011 with my wife having fertility drugs we had twins. Unfortunately we seperated in 2021 and divorced in 2023. I have the kids every other weekend.
Healthcare: I was in the Army and in Desert Storm and have VA health care. Post injury I had 7 pulmonary embolisms. I had my bladder augmented to be bigger and less refluxing back to kidneys. My first ten years I played quad rugby. Wow what a great game. After Rugby, I got a bit overweight but with Keto 2x a year maintained 200 to 220lbs. In the last two years I moved to healthy Keto: More veggies, more olive oil, more daily mile rolls, working our every other day. More clean protein and supplements. I now bounce between 175 and 180lbs and was 6 feet tall. The VA has been good to me but you have to be your own advocate and sometimes fight for your health care issues.
Sexually: I just had the penile implant pump added and mostly like it. The blue pill worked but only when taken daily and still not 100% ready when I thought I should be ready. I tried trimix shots, muse inserted in the tip, vacuum and rubber bands. When married, we took a lot of sex education classes, couples classes. The Yoni Massage class was my favorite. I have always been a bit of a pu$$y worshiper, that is the Yoni. It is a long process that is healing and not necessary Sexual but very sensual. I have always liked tying up my girlfriends/wife and a bit kinky.
Lifestyle: I have a raised bed garden in pots and beds. I do beermaking when i have time. I love music and tinker with my hifi system. I meet with friends on Wednesday and Thursday. I collect and shoot pistols weekly, sometimes in competition but im the only handicap shooter. I've tried dating with EVERY SINGLE dating site. If I have pictures with a wheelchair I get comments like "great spunky attitude" by ckickets for anything more. If i don't have wheelchair pictures, I get lots of replies and chat back and forth but it drops when I mention a wheelchair. I tried showing up an dated to see disappointment or outright anger. Being in a wheelchair, you can't just set there and wait for something to be given to you. You have to plan, work hard, reinvent yourself, try harder and fight for what you want. Not just once but fight daily over and over and over.
