Not so long ago, there was some discussion about quad tummies. I, personally, think they are very sexy. I also like the look of quad hands.
I found it interesting that some of the guys here had no idea that dev chicks could fancy either.
What other myths can we dispell, guys?

i could probably dispell pretty much every single myth out there. if it's crip - related, i'm excited.
but if any wheelers have any specific questions in mind i'd be curious to know of them and of course, answer them.

Well I think I have just about got the lot for a quad save the vent, although I have the scars & that is hyper-sensitive in play! I had guessed from first learning of devs that some if not most would find the weird bits i.e. scars, hands, splints, bellies, spasm, AD, daily routine & equipment use the cute interesting bits of us wheelers, they are the different bits, the bits we learn to adapt and do things with, they are not possible to see and talk of openly! They are the intriguing bit, am I right ladies?

Right. Everything but the vent, though. I don't think I could be turned on by a ventilator... I believe that most devs have a "maximum" level of injury that they find attractive. For me it would probably be any injury that requires a vent. I just realized that I'm not turned on by scars, either, and I think I'm in the minority here. The hypersensitive thing, of course, is groovy. i could probably dispell pretty much every single myth out there. if it's crip - related, i'm excited. but if any wheelers have any specific questions in mind i'd be curious to know of them and of course, answer them. Yes, you are, Spurs. I think you get the devo thing. All of the different bits are part of the wheeler mystique and intrigue.

By the way, would spurs or someone else explain to me what AD(autono(mous?) dysreflexia(?)) is? I would look it up on the 'net but I figure you all are much more knowledgeable.

Autonomic Dysreflexia & Hyperreflexia www.apparelyzed.com/autonomic.htmlBasically f you have any form of pain, problem like blocked catheter or overfull bowel, urine infection, body over hot etc.etc your blood pressure goes haywire, can get tremendous sweating, headaches like u wouldn't believe and so on! Equally it can be an early warning system if understood!

I also like the look of quad hands. E's hands are the sexiest thing in the world to me. I'm always touching them and his lower arms, so I'm sure he's picked up that they're one of my favorite spots by now.

I read about how after the sinking of the 'Lusitania', hundreds and hundrerds of corpses-most of them naked-washed ashore in Ireland. They were collected together to try to identify them, but it was very difficult to do so. The bodies all looked pretty much like each other. There was a disturbing anonymity to them...it was impossible to tell a stoker from a millionaire from a ship's officer from an etc...
I reflected that as crips, our bodies are unique; very much outside the standard mold(which is by and large VERY standard.)

Yes, and that uniqueness is beautiful.
