The date was September 3rd and I was just going to take a quick peek at PD after work. To my pleasant suprise the chatroom wasn't empty, but was inhabitated by a girl named Lisa. After calming my inner Wallowitz (inside joke) I said hi. To much excitement I got a hi back. After a few hours of chatting we said our goodbyes, but agreed on that we should talk again. The next day we did.
After a few weeks of chatting, we started IM'ing. IM'ing was followed by mailing, which again was followed by skyping. Suddenly we had decided to meet in Munich in 5 weeks. The next 5 weeks we worried together, got excited together, but mostly got real fond of eachother.
Then after a long, sleepless night the day was finally there...

I have never been so excited before. Never. And I had 6 hours of train trip to freak out and tell myself how crazy I am to do this. And suddenly there I were. In an unfamiliar city. At the airport. Meeting a stranger. How on earth? If somebody would have told me three months earlier... Maybe I wouldn't have registered on PD . It took eternities until we finally met. The flight was delayed, then the baggage was taking what felt like hours. But finally he arrived. Of course I knew how he looked like before, but seeing somebody in real life is always a difference. And a breathtaking moment in this case. There was a cute, hot guy, taking the plane for 1500km distance just to meet me. Wow. I guess the first day was just filled with staring and disbelief. The excitement seemed to even increase and I had my problems to get together that the guy being here right in front of me was the same I had been sharing so much online time with. In retrospect the whole weekend feels like a big dream. As if someone has torn me out of my real life for three days. The goodbye came way too early. I guess it wasn't until I had left that I started feeling what this time had done to me. There won't ever be a way back and I am thankful for our time together. With a huge distance between us and several other problems in our way we nevertheless decided that being together is worth a try. Plus the phone companies will be glad . Okay, this was a glimpse on our story. Hope you enjoyed it .

Yay! What a great way to share your story. I remember when the chat room was first set up. I think you two are the first to use it successfully for finding a partner. Your story brings back memories of me and my husbands first meeting which coincidentally was 5 years ago tomorrow.
So why did you two both travel to meet each other?

Thanks for sharing and congratulations! Your story reminds me a bit about my own, especially the worrying/freaking out part (hehe) and the distance is about the same
