I just took a little trip down the YouTube memory lane after seeing the teaser trailer for the new Avatar sequel, and I stumbled across this. Apparently it's the alternative opening to the original film that never made the cut, and man... I'm pretty sure my teenage dev heart would've exploded if I'd seen this in the theaters. I feel like I just stumbled upon some lost dev lore, haha. How'd I ever miss it? Holy! Thank you sooo much for sharing this. Jake Sully played by Sam Worthington is one of my favorites in movies. since I heard that there will be a 2nd Avatar movie, I hoped to see Sam Wothington back in a wheelchair again. And even though this scene might not have made it in the movie, I love it. I will think of it when I watch Avatar 2 in the movie theater. This is on the collector’s edition of the DVD - which I of course own and have watched a bajillion times. Well worth getting if you can find it online. 16 extra minutes, most of him as a wheeler on Earth. What’s not to like? Oh yes, the fact his chair doesn’t have a cushion! But that’s all. Jake Sully played by Sam Worthington is one of my favorites in movies. since I heard that there will be a 2nd Avatar movie, I hoped to see Sam Wothington back in a wheelchair again. You won’t regret it - honestly! The third disc is a lot of out takes, behind the scenes bits and other stuff. Hours of it. Also very interesting. i tried wheelchair basketball couple of months ago. It was so much fun. but totally exhausting if you’re not used to it 🙈

EDIT** movie is TERRIBLE. Just sort of fast forwarded on the plot. My dev high had led me to more content. Haven’t watched this one yet. I checked and it is available in the US. I’m not really into the angry para storyline but thought to share it. I also fast forwarded through the storyline when I first heard about that movie a while ago. these days I’m sick at home and not much to do so I took the time to watch it completely. Yes, it’s a horrible story and not really devy. Maybe a bit at the beginning. If anyone is interested, I suggest to watch the first half of the movie and the just shut it off. |

this looks (at a first and very brief glance) like a remake of Monkey Shines, which was a bit of a sinister film where the monkey is evil and tries to kill the quad guy. Maybe it’s completely different though? |

Maybe it’s completely different though? No completely different. This is based on a true story and apparently they did a big legal battle in order to keep the monkey. Could be interesting. I’m pretty annoyed though that here again, another ab actor |

I attempted to watch the preview but it’s def gonna be way to scary for me 🙈😱

I think so feelsunshine ...I do have access to like Bayern1 mediathek, I like to watch a show called "Lebenslinien" there...it's a documentary. I don't watch a whole lot of TV as is and so also not a whole lot of German TV, but I listen to German radio all the time... |

Alright- I got wise to Morbius from the post here and watching the trailer. Jared Leto is delish (I have enjoyed looking at him since Urban Legend), but I haven't actually seen "Morbin' Time." Has anyone watched it? How much time is he actually a PWD? Does he go back and forth from AB to PWD? As in if I do watch it and it is the festering turd pile Rotten Tomatoes says, can I switch it off after and not miss any solid dev scenes? Also, I read that Jared Leto used crutches to get around set to get in character and would take 45 minute bathroom breaks to hobble there. I can appreciate his commitment to the role as the changing dynamic of the character wouldn't have allowed an actual PWD to play the part. But the director and team did not, so they ended up persuading him to use a wheelchair. He is only disabled for like 20-30 min of the movie. So that was a let down. There is not really much flashbacks. The only flashbacks are limited and focus on him as a child. There were not any devy scenes unfortunately (besides walking). |
