The English translation of the movie is “kills on wheels” from 2016. It’s an action movie and by watching the trailer I assume I wouldn’t like it. Probably one of you will like it though. Sorry again, I didn’t find a decent English YouTube link.

I just found that „kills on wheels“ is on German Amazon Prime currently. Here it’s called „hitman: impossible“

I didn’t care for that movie over the years but now I’m finally watching it.

Hey. I found this turkish telenovela on youtube, it's called zalim istanbul and the main character ist disabled via medicine given to him by his stepmother (that's what i figured, there are no subtitles). He gets cured in Episode 17, but I think overall it is a nice story / lovestory.

Has anyone seen the new Lady Chatterley's Lover on Netflix? I'm doubtful that it will be devvy, since it centers around her affair with a non-disabled lover. Ugh.

I watched it a few days ago, it was very disappointing, even from a non dev perspective it wasn't good enough, maybe because i Associate the actress with her role on the Crown 😅

I looked it up but the descriptions are quite vague - does it have a lot of devvy content?

I have recently watched Vitória, a Brazilian soap opera. Some people here mentioned the show on this thread years ago, but I would love to bring it up again . The plot is what you could expect from a soap opera, but the performance to me is one of the "better ones" (of course it would never be perfect until they hire a real pwd). Bruno Ferrari, the actor who played this character, did a lot of research and worked with a physiotherapist to learn about paraplegia. I only watched some clips of the protagonists that fans in Brazil posted on Youtube, but that's enough to get a glimpse of the entire story. Unfortunately, the show is only in Portuguese and I had to use a lot of google translate to understand what's going on.

Synopsis from IMDB:
Artur, the rich young owner of Arminho Ranch, holds a grudge against his alleged father Gregório. When he was 12, Artur who was baptized as Mossoró, became paraplegic after he fell off a horse his father gave him. Gregório who never managed to cope with this tragedy and ended up rejecting Mossoró. Clarice is Artur's mother, Gregório's first wife, who teaches at the Priscila Schiller school. She can't live with the troubled relationship between her son and her husband and decides to run away with her firstborn to Curacao, hiding the secret of his father's identity for years until, realizing Artur's thirst for vengeance, she reveals that Gregório is not his biological father. But this doesn't alleviate his hate, and he commits his mother to a psychiatric hospital so she won't get in the way of his revenge. Clarice eventually becomes addicted to medications. Dominated by his desire for vengeance, Artur returns to Brazil to implement his plan to destroy the Training Center Ranch Altacyr Ferreira, Gregório's property, where he spent his youth. Diana was born from Gregório's second marriage and is Mossoró's sister. Both are children of Gregório's now-deceased second wife. Diana inherited her father's passion for horses. She is disturbed by the thought that she committed incest with Artur, who is not really her brother. While going through this psychological torture, she has an affair with Raphael, creating a love triangle full of emotions, intrigues and revenges.

Do you mind sharing what their disabilities were, roughly?

I think for the Main character is blindness, not sure about the term and the one who appears in the second book, paraplegia

I just read the first 4 chapters from the Amazon sample and there was no mention of disability, there was mention of the main character having some illness but it's not explained what it it. The relationship seems a bit toxic so I don't think I'll be reading it for now... but I totally understand that some people like graphic sex scenes and it seems like that's there

Also, I watch the show called "the good doctor" (the American version), where the main character is autistic, and in this season one of the main characters, a female surgeon, becomes paralysed after a complication from a surgery. There is also a new intern who has a prosthetic leg (played by a real amputee actress). They both go and play wheelchair basketball, and then the paralysed surgeon starts dating a fellow basketball player - who I think is also disabled in real life. Season 6 just went on a winter break but I think we'll be seeing more of the guy, so I recommend it, even if you didn't watch the previous seasons!

It's True they are a bit toxic at the beginning, a friend recommended me the books, at first didn't enjoy it but then gossip caught me, I read all 7 books 😁
