I've actually dated several different pwds with all different disabilities at this point, and somehow, things all came down to paraplegia. I suppose I'm still open minded? But like...I know the most about spinal cord injuries and I'm so comfortable with them that that's kind of become my niche now. I wouldn't be opposed to other things if it came up though!

I feel like SMA should have its own.

I feel like SMA should have its own. Sorry I can't edit the poll afterwards. There are lots of things I'd change about it if I could.

I have dated several PWDs with different disabilities in my life, but now that I am in a relationship with a guy with MS, I find that my main preference is movement disorders such as CP or MS, anything that includes involuntary movement and I also prefer the more severe types.

although I've never dated a PWD before, as far as my devness goes, I would say that SCI (I guess one of the most common) would be my primary attraction, or any disability necessitating the use of crutches and braces or a wheelchair although higher SCI and quadriplegia definitely apply. however, I am also attracted to blindness and deafness in particular.
i think a lot of the latter stems from watching (and enjoying) the cheesy 90's j-drama aishiteiru to itte kure/say that you love me 愛していると言ってくれ and being deeply attracted to the brooding artist male lead played by toyokawa etsushi 豊川 悦司. I think deaf culture is very rich in its history, and it has been impactful learning about the complex dynamics and strong feelings of forced assimilation into the hearing world. i suppose it would be very much akin to cross-cultural dating were I to date someone from the deaf community, or perhaps even someone with deaf or hard of hearing parents/parents.

So devvy! ahhh it's perfect! one of the j-dramas i've enjoyed the most. also the acting (well, aside from the female lead) is quite good, and it seems like a relatively accurate exploration of the relationship. though the manic pixie disposition of her does grate a lot by the end.

Really interesting poll. I am not in to a certain disability as long as he cant walk or uses a wheel chair. I am also totally in to skinny guys especially extreme skinny legs is a huge tur on for me.
