Several feet? They are called brakes. And when a curb is about two feet away from the truck it really has no room to go anywhere but down.
btw I don't lie and your question feels like a bullshitometer question. Well bite me. Don't try to sink my boat because you don't have the brain pan to use your imagination.

No, mellow(gotta wonder about that name now tho)...I believe you. I geuss it's just hard to imagine MYSELF doing it; reaching down and hauling up a w/c from a truck seat...but sure I believe you.

Mellow, I come to Triassic's defense as he's not a he-man muscle armed para the likes of your Mellowness. It is a justifiable question. Is it a rigid frame chair. I don't know how you pulled this one off, but next time, please try to get it on video.

Having arms that are versatile are an advantage...I have seen a similar incident of the likes that Mellow encountered (actually to tell ya' folks the truth, a good deal of people I know have had a situation like that...it isn't incredibly extraordinary in the paraworld, but still is a great effort in general though (damn, it is so hard to appease both the masses), to me, 'twas believable, but I could see where others may have a hard time.

I believe Mr mellow. I transferd into a cessna single propeller aeroplane, wing first, then into the cock pit. Left the chair on the runway though.

I transfered from my chair to the floor once. Face first. It was fun. There was a bloody lip involved.

I once, after 7 years of paralysis, transfered onto my bed and forgot I was paralyzed because I was trying to fix my hair in the mirror. I lost balance, fell onto the floor and broke my leg. what a tool!

Anyway, I thought some C.P's and Quads get thrown rather than do a transfer! (depending on their ability)

I don't think it would classify as a transfer, but what's the fastest way to get from the top of a mountain to down below? well, easy, just let gravity do the work for you without you ending up on the floor. I did it like 20 times with my cousin hanging in the back of my wheelchair and me driving with the brakes through a very sloped curved road, of course what I didn't know at the time, being so young, I think I was like 12, is that me and my cousin could have died; but with the fun we had doing those stunts, I think it was worth the risk.

It just shows that wheelers have great variability in abililities and deficits...and it may not be obvious at first. Two guys sitting side by side may look very similar with respect to physical function; but one may have normal plus upper body ability, but zero lower body strength. While wheeler number 2 may be very weak globally, but still be able to stand and walk a bit.

Well, on a private airfield it might be different. I don't think he was referring to a public airfield/airport.

Well you'd have to ask him, because I think we're in three different countries now, I forget who even said that they did it in the first place...laws could very well be different, I don't know myself, since I'm not a pilot myself (though Top Gun made me want to be for a breif period of time ), was just offering a possible explanation. I know someone who was in the USAF, and he dealt with civilian-esque planes, as well as fighter jets, so I know that if a wheelchair was behind a jet at least, that would spell problems, as for the situation that we're talking about, no clue.
