Anyone ever see an Irish film called Rory McCoy was here? He's a quad with MD. VERY good movie. Very realistic. it's 'rory o'shea was here' i did see this, but don't remember too much about it so i'm thinking it probably didn't appeal to me all that much. oh ya, his buddy had cp, didn't he? has anyone see the movie 'pumpkin'? lol

this thread is great. I am a TV girl through and through (prefer shows to movies by far). The number of hours I've spent on televisionwithoutpity are countless. the Lady Chatterley reversal idea is very intriguing. I loved Joan of Arcadia--I initially watched for Kevin, but as it progressed I watched less and less for him and more for everyone and everything else. I didn't find him that cute. Liked him with Lilly the nun, though. With Friday Night Lights, I also initially started watching because of Jason Street. Actually, I'd never known anything about the show until someone wrote an ER crossover fic, in which Ray Barnett and Jason were cousins both dealing with injury (This was last summer, right after the episode in which Ray lost his legs. I read ER fic constantly for the stories about him. Ray- yum!! I am not normally turned on by amputees but I was attracted to that character far before he ended up under a truck.) So then I started watching FNL. Which, as the critics say, is a damn good show, all around. Scott Porter is pretty, too. I got to write a term paper on Dark Angel once. The class was called "Bodies and Machines" and I convinced my prof to let me write an analysis of the show for my final paper. God, those were the moments I loved college, when I could study stuff that was intellectually fascinating but also personally compelling. I'm not kidding about the intellectual fascination -- that show had major flaws, especially in season 2 (!), but it was smart, and approached interesting themes. It was more than just a vehicle for Jessica Alba's ass, tits, and lips. In the televisionwithoutpity summary of the episode "Art Attack," the recapper (I still don't know if they are male or female) wrote: "Bouncing balls. Basketballs. It's wheelchair basketball! Would y'all think I'm a pervert if I confessed to having a fascination with guys in wheelchairs? Especially hot, sweaty ones with nice torsos and arms. Yum!" My reaction when I first read that, 4 years ago, was, "I don't know, am I a pervert?" I'm so much more comfortable now than I was then.

I've found several books on Amazon, most of them are really cheesy romantic stuff, none have really caught my attention...i really enjoyed the fiction stories on this website, why hasn't it been updated since 2007??

Dolly made this suggestion elsewhere, and I missed the film/tv/book discussions, so I'm bumping this thread. I was recalling a series of young adult fiction I read about a decade ago called Med Center. Anyone heard of these? There was a para named Sid who'd fallen off a watertower. I don't remember much else except that he was very stereotypically bitter. The remains of the Med Center series on amazon(I'm a little late to the game in responding to this, but I'm going through a "House" phase) The dev in me says "dayum, that would be hot," but I must admit I think that what they went with works.

...wouldn't a 'Wheeler House' fall into that 'Stereotypical Bitter Wheeler' thing, though? While I am from a totally different POV, I can't imagine Hugh Laurie being too hot, either...the Jesse Spencer character, I would imagine would be a more ideal fit?

It may not be your taste because it is gay, but I think, BRAVO for someone to actually make this film. Is it creepy because it is gay sex? Are we creepy for straddling a man in his wheelchair?

I think gay sex is HOT but that preview was creepy. The heavy breathing, the way it was shot like amateur porn. Oh and WHY don't they show the amputee guy? Why do we only see his face, but we see lots of able-bodied naked man flesh? Makes me wonder how progressive the film really is. And the IMDB synopsis makes it sound anti-dev. Still waiting for the movie that even comes close to my real life. And while we're asking questions, why did we also get the preview for Knight Rider?

Proboards likes to toss in advertisements next to embedded videos, it seems.
