I don't really care if they read. I expect them to, and pretty much everything I write has that taken into consideration.
I don't want them commenting, liking, pulling out bits to general, PM'ing us about what it written her, or using other media to do so.
To me it's like having mice. I live in a 200 year old farmhouse. I KNOW there are mice. I saw the traps when I moved in. I behave as if we have mice. I don't leave food out, or have tons of mice friendly packaging.
But I don't SEE the mice. They don't leave their evidence around. And as long as they don't announce their presence or make me set traps, I don't mind them very much...

I can't really vote on that because some of them do not apply to me, I never get private messages pertaining to "Devs only" topics and I also never really understood this "Devs Only" section, that is why I don't post very deep here or not a whole lot, because I know the guys probably read some of it. I think it makes no sense to have a "Devs Only" section because it is not closed but open for everyone to read and that is why I don't do a whole lot here, I maybe used to but I am reluctant to go too deep anyways about very personal things. I also have to say if is wre the other way around "Dis guys only" I know I would be checking it out sometimes...just being honest here... I agree with most of the votes, but like Dani I only read the "devs only post" because I am relunctant to comment knowing it is not private. We obviously are all attracted to PWD, but we want to keep some of our thoughts hidden to them. Shy devs like me are willing to share, but not with everyone!

I think it's important to respect Devs Only in the sense that not all devs participate on the general board and will only share so much of themselves in Devs Only (sensitive subject for some devs more than others). Taking posts out of context or even asking questions directly related to posts in Devs Only on the general board is kind of like reading someone's diary and violating privacy and trust.
I, myself, am fully aware that this is not truly a private place, but to even have a place for ONLY devs to talk is sacred to me. Plus, if you don't participate in Devs Only or on the general board, you might miss making some potentially great friendships and/or self-acceptance.
I've not had anyone other than a Dev approach me about anything I've posted, but it's hard to put a cap on someone else's curiousity, Dev or PWD.
I sure hope devs feel they can at least post some things about their devness in Devs Only or are able to find other devs to connect with because it makes a world of difference in your Dev-acceptance.
People will still read devs only and will continue to disobey the rules but probably out of ignorance more than anything else. Or maybe not.
I take it for what it is, our Dev space, because there are no other spaces unless you make one for yourself and friends off the boards then it truly IS safe.

It seems completely silly to pretend that non-devs aren’t reading the Devs Only Section all the time. Imagine if you were a PWD, learned about devs, and ended up here. Of course you’d read it and I don’t there’s anything wrong about that all. It’s expected. But maintaining the idea of privacy is a nice fiction, at least for me anyway. I like the idea that I’m indirectly sharing my devness with pwds that are interested.

It is an honor system I guess but I highly doubt people care about this.

If there was a 'PWD ONLY' section - have to say - I'd take a look.

We did not choose, Proboards does not have the functionality we need to make it truly closed. Even if we close this one section, whatever you post here will still show up when you select the "recent posts" and "recent threads" which is how a lot of people read the board. Proboards is a free service with limited functionality.
We created the devs-only section to give devs a place to post without the PWDs derailing the conversation. That's all. We also ask all members not to drag conversations started in this section onto the general board. Anything posted here can be read by anyone, member or non-member. We don't pretend we can police what people read, but we ask the PWD members to be respectful.
Also keep in mind this very old thread was resurrected by a PWD member who was angry that he got a warning about not posting in devs-only. I deleted his post but it was part of a tantrum he threw to purposely get himself banned because he didn't like getting a warning.
