"I was a fool" is the song that speaks to me the most about my experiences as a dev. It's about those relationships that last way longer than they should, but these lines kill me:
"Do you remember I searched you out/ How I climbed your city's walls? Do you remember me as devout / How I prayed for your calls?"
"Then you blamed me and blocked me out / How long did you think Id last? Then you disappeared for weeks to pout / How many times could I pack?"
Mind you, I love the song. It's even the ringtone of my work phone ;-)

Vance Joy - "Mess is Mine"
"Hold on darling This body is yours This body is yours and mine Well, hold on my darling This mess was yours Now your mess is mine" This made me smile. Love songs that remind me of particular people.

This song came out nearly 10 years before I was born, in 1984, but it's a good one. All about Rick Hansen. Sometimes I listen to it when I need a pump up. May or may not have sung this karaoke style recently hahaha but the evidence has long been deleted.

I am not a Rihanna fan, so the song doesn't trigger anything devy in me but I always wondered about the words to this song... This song reminds me of my devness and all that it encompasses. "Not really sure how to feel about it. Something in the way you move Makes me feel like I can't live without you. It takes me all the way. Ooh, ooh, ooh, the reason I hold on Ooh, ooh, ooh, 'cause I need this hole gone Funny you're the broken one but I'm the only one who needed saving."

Thanks for making me feel reaaaaaaally old. born in 1992. The other day was the first time in my life I felt old when I had to tell someone what a floppy disk was..in reality I'm just a kid.

That's also why I never liked the Ruby song. Yes, it's devvy in ways... but I always thought it was just horrible... never could understand why Ruby was going anywhere. lol I heard it most when I was a kid. Someone actually made a song written from Ruby's perspective in which she doesn't cheat on him. The song's quite predictable but it's still nice that she made a reply I think "I'd gladly give the world if I could make you understand But I said "I Do," and that's still true; you'll always be my man"

Hey, I'm glad that someone changed the ending to Ruby. Loved to listen to that and think....I wouldn't leave you. You don't need Ruby ;P. I really like that song by Hoozier "Take me to Church" Devy to me for some reason unknown to anyone i suspect.

He said on something i was watching that it was basically a fuck you to religion about how gays are treated. I agree with TC123 that it resonates with lots of issues and feelings. Besides loving his voice.

What should I do? Kill myself? Or create another board for the "antique" ones of us! @yorkshire pudding @inkdevil.. We're 'differently aged' , surely? Nah, 'experienced' ...in many things, I'm sure. It's just depressing when I had been left school a few years and he hadn't even been born yet. Youth is wasted on the young. Never a truer saying. It certainly was on me :-) Oh my God..you made it worse..never thought about the school part.. Can we think of ourselves as "professional" devs then? And professional PWD? Ok..i don't have a special dev song to answer the original post.

Thank you!
